The intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) is a widely-used mechanical circulatory support device that enhances hemodynamics in patients with heart conditions. Although the IABP is a common clinical tool, its effectiveness in enhancing outcomes for patients with acute myocardial infarction and cardiogenic shock remains disputed. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of intra-aortic dual-balloon pump (IADBP) and its impact on aortic hemodynamics compared with an IABP.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the impact of changing inspiratory depth from end- to mid-inspiratory level on the iodine concentration of lung parenchyma and main pulmonary artery in dual-energy CT pulmonary angiography.
Methods: This retrospective study included patients who underwent dual-energy CT pulmonary angiography from July 2020 to June 2023. Patients were instructed to hold their breath at end- and mid-inspiratory levels before and after January 2022, respectively.

Accurate detection of cardiac arrhythmias is crucial for preventing premature deaths. The current study employs a dual-stage Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and a median filter to eliminate noise from ECG signals. Subsequently, ECG signals are segmented, and QRS regions are extracted for further preprocessing.

Background: Transvenous lead extraction (TLE) has become an essential component of lead management strategies, but it carries the risk of severe complications, including damage to the tricuspid valve. Currently, there are no established predictors that can help prevent these complications.
Case Summary: An 84-year-old male with a dual-chamber pacemaker was admitted to the hospital due to a pocket fistula resulting from a local infection.

We describe a 54-year-old man with type 2 diabetes mellitus, ischemic myopathy, pulmonary hypertension, and end-stage renal disease who was admitted for heart failure and listed for a dual cardiac-renal transplantation. Extensive calcification in the iliac arteries prevented clamping. Proximal endovascular balloon control of the left iliac artery was achieved using contralateral access; distal control was established by passing a Fogarty catheter distally through an iliac arteriotomy, later used for anastomosis of the cadaveric conduit.
