Erich arch bars and other wiring techniques were commonly used for closed reduction of many maxillofacial fractures. These wires can cause inadvertent finger puncture of the operator's finger and can increase the risk of spread of blood borne diseases like HIV and Hepatitis. To avoid this complication we recommended the use of dynaplast adhesive tape (Johnson and Johnson Ltd., Mumbai, India) over all the finger tips, before wearing the gloves, while performing IMF.

Purpose: Brachial plexus traction injuries have conventionally been categorized as involving the C5-C6, C5-C7, C5-T1, and C8-T1 roots. In this article, we report a distinct clinical presentation of brachial plexus injury characterized by intact finger flexion with signs of complete brachial plexus injury.
Methods: From 2010 to 2022, 989 patients who sustained brachial plexus injuries were examined and underwent surgery.

Diabetes is known to reduce blood circulation in capillaries and arterioles; however, no devices can easily measure this on a daily basis. In this study, we developed a tool for measuring finger photoplethysmograms using green light and near-infrared LEDs. Thereafter, photoplethysmography was conducted on 25 inpatients/outpatients with diabetes and 21 adult males and females who had not been diagnosed with or treated for diabetes, hypertension, or cardiovascular disease (control group).

The expression of oncogene zinc-finger protein 217 (ZNF217) has been reported to play a central role in cancer development, resistance, and recurrence. Therefore, targeting ZNF217 has been proposed as a possible strategy to fight cancer, and there has been much research on compounds that can target ZNF217. The present work investigates the chemo-preventive properties of cucurbitacin D, a compound with a broad range of anticancer effects, in hematological cancer cells, specifically with regard to its ability to modulate ZNF217 expression.
