Chicken egg yolk plasma (EYP), the supernatant fraction of egg yolk obtained by water dilution and centrifugation, is a rich source of various bioactive substances and a significant bearer of yolk-emulsifying properties. This study utilized proteomics to conduct a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of both common and modified EYP proteins (phosphorylated proteins and N-glycosylated proteins). Total of 208 proteins were identified in EYP, including 42 phosphorylated proteins with 137 phosphorylation sites and 150 N-glycoproteins with 332 N-glycosylation sites.

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) plays a central role in the elucidation of chemical structures but is often limited by low sensitivity. Dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (dDNP) emerges as a transformative methodology for both solution-state NMR and metabolic NMR imaging, which could overcome this limitation. Typically, dDNP relies on combining a stable radical with the analyte within a uniform glass under cryogenic conditions.

Frequent droughts have caused severe disaster losses in China. Such events can be minimized by enhancing the country's resilience and reducing its vulnerability, where this can ensure socioeconomic stability and sustainable development. Evaluating the vulnerability and resilience to drought is thus crucial for effectively managing the risk of disasters and promoting sustainable socioeconomic development.

The literature currently recognizes four guilds of estuarine resident fish species, namely solely estuarine, estuarine and marine, estuarine and freshwater, and estuarine migrant. In this review the life cycles of actual representatives from these four guilds are assessed to determine whether the current definitions, which have never been formally tested, are appropriate to fish species resident in South African estuaries. Detailed information and diagrammatic life cycles are provided for the selected species covered by this review.
