We measured the in situ polarization-dependent X-ray absorption fine structure of platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) deposited on a flat highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) substrate under electrochemical conditions using a back-side illumination method. In this method, the thin HOPG substrate with PtNPs deposited on one side was used as a window for incident and fluorescent X-rays, as well as an electrode. A bent crystal Laue analyzer (BCLA) was applied to the extraction of the Pt Lα fluorescent X-ray signals from strong scattered X-rays. Pt L3 edge XAFS spectra were observed for various electrode potentials and polarization directions.

The rapid flame annealing (FA) method has the advantages of convenience and rapidity with an instantaneous temperature rise and fall process. In this work, the influence of flame annealing duration on the front side and back side of CuBiO-based photocathodes was investigated, and photoelectrodes with variable compositions were obtained. A highly efficient CuO@CuO/CuBiO photoelectrode was successfully obtained via a two-step FA method within a few seconds.

Metal halide perovskite materials (MHPs) are promising for several applications due to their exceptional properties. Understanding excitonic properties is essential for exploiting these materials. For this purpose, we focus on CsPbBr3 single crystals, which have higher crystal quality, are more stable, and have no Rashba effect at low temperatures compared to other 3D MHPs.

Laser dazzling on complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensors is an effective method in optoelectronic countermeasures. However, previous research mainly focused on the laser dazzling under far fields, with limited studies on situations that the far-field conditions were not satisfied. In this paper, we established a Fresnel diffraction model of laser dazzling on a CMOS by combining experiments and simulations.

The field of optical systems with asymmetric responses has grown significantly due to their various potential applications. Janus metasurfaces are noteworthy for their ability to control light asymmetrically at the pixel level within thin films. However, previous demonstrations are restricted to the partial control of asymmetric transmission for a limited set of input polarizations, focusing primarily on scalar functionalities.

We have developed a high-speed recordable direct electron detector based on silicon-on-insulator technology. The detector has 16 analog memories in each pixel to record 16 images with sub-microsecond temporal resolution. A dedicated data acquisition system has also been developed to display and record the results on a personal computer.
