In this study the performance enhancement effect of structural ordering for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is systematically studied. Two samples of PtCu3 nanoparticles embedded on a graphitic carbon support are carefully prepared with identical initial composition, particle dispersion and size distribution, yet with different degrees of structural ordering. Thus we can eliminate all coinciding effects and unambiguously relate the improved activity of the ORR and more importantly the enhanced stability to the ordered nanostructure. Interestingly, the electrochemically induced morphological changes are common to both ordered and disordered samples. The observed effect could have a groundbreaking impact on the future directions in the rational design of active and stable platinum alloyed ORR catalysts.

Promoting the rate of the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is critical for boosting the overall energy efficiency of the flexible zinc-air batteries (FZABs). Inspired by nature, we designed "branch-leaf" like hierarchical porous carbon nanofibers with ultralow loadings of Ir nanoparticles (NPs) derived from covalent-organic framework/metal-organic framework (COF/MOF) core-shell hybrids. The as-obtained Ir/FeZn-hierarchical porous carbon nanofibers (HPCNFs) showcase enhanced ORR performance, and the ultralow Ir loading reduces the cost while maintaining catalytic capacity.

Objective: The objective of this study is to assess the impact of nano platinum-hydrogen saline (Pt NPs + H) on oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR) in neonatal rats, with the goal to contribute new insights into the therapeutic strategies for retinopathy of prematurity.
Methods: Pt NPs + H formulation was synthesized to address OIR in a rat model. Subsequent examination included the assessment of retinal blood vessel distribution and morphology through hematoxylin and eosin (HE) and isolectin B4 (IB4) staining techniques.

Polydatin (PD), a glucoside derivative of resveratrol (RES), is extracted as a monomer compound from the dried rhizome of Polygonum cuspidatum. Our laboratory synthesized PD via the biotransformation of resveratrol. To assess the reproductive protective effects of PD, an oligozoospermia mouse model was induced by administering 30 mg/kg busulfan (BUS) via intraperitoneal injection.

Background: Post-stroke epilepsy (PSE) poses a significant challenge despite advances in stroke treatment. This study compares the efficacy of the novel anti-seizure medication (ASM) Perampanel with the classical ASM Oxcarbazepine in treating PSE.
Methods: This prospective randomized controlled trial recruited PSE patients from September 2022 to January 2024 across multiple hospitals.
