The pathogenesis of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) is still not fully understood. The involvement of corticosteroids is undisputed, although their exact role has not been clarified; other parts of the underlying mechanism of CSC have been mainly elucidated by imaging techniques such as fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography. Even though most cases of CSC are self-limiting, severe as well as recurrent courses exist, and for these patients only a limited number of treatment options are available: laser photocoagulation, with a risk of scotoma and choroidal neovascularization, and photodynamic therapy. In this review article, we give an overview of its epidemiology, the current understanding of its pathogenesis as well as systemic and ocular risk factors. We illuminate modern diagnostic tools as well as current treatment options in the context of CSC, particularly in the light of a better understanding of corticosteroids and their receptors involved in its pathogenesis.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of navigated subthreshold micropulse laser (NSML) compared to subthreshold micropulse laser (SML) without navigation in the management of chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR).
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included patients diagnosed with chronic CSCR who underwent either NSML or SML without navigation. Patients meeting inclusion criteria presented with serous macular detachment and leakage at the level of the retinal pigment epithelium on fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA).

Down syndrome (DS) is the most common chromosomal disorder and a significant cause of intellectual disability, with children at increased risk for hearing loss. This study investigates the prevalence and characteristics of conductive hearing loss in Indian children with DS. Fifty children with karyotypically confirmed DS, aged 2 to 18 years, were examined at a tertiary care hospital.

To unravel the mechanism of immune activation and suppression within tumors, a critical step is to identify transcriptional signals governing cell-cell communication between tumor and immune/stromal cells in the tumor microenvironment. Central to this communication are interactions between secreted ligands and cell-surface receptors, creating a highly connected signaling network among cells. Recent advancements in in situ-omics profiling, particularly spatial transcriptomic (ST) technology, provide unique opportunities to directly characterize ligand-receptor signaling networks that power cell-cell communication.

Purpose: To train generative adversarial network (GAN) models to generate predictive optical coherence tomography (OCT) images of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) at 3 months after observation using multi-modal OCT images.
Methods: Four hundred forty CSC eyes of 440 patients who underwent Cirrus OCT imaging were included. Baseline OCT B-scan images through the foveal center, en face choroid, and en face ellipsoid zone were collected from each patient.
