Peroneus brevis tendon injury is the most common lesion of the peroneal tendons. The initial treatment is conservative, and surgical treatment is indicated if conservative treatment fails. It is often necessary to open the entire upper and lower retinaculum to obtain adequate visualization of the structures. We present a case in which the peroneus brevis tenodesis was used with the aid of tendoscopy. This technique should be used for patients with lesions affecting more than 50% of the tendon diameter. We found that, by making small incisions, the patient recovered well, quickly, with resolution of pain.

Background: Chronic ankle instability (CAI) has been associated with neuromuscular control dysfunction, particularly of the peroneal musculature.
Research Question: How do neuromuscular characteristics of the peroneal muscles, including corticospinal excitability, strength, proprioception (force sense) and electromyographic measures differ in individuals with CAI compared to healthy control counterparts aged 18-45?
Methods: A systematic review with meta-analysis was conducted by retrieving relevant articles from electronic databases including EBSCOhost (CINAHL Complete, AMED, SPORTDiscus), Ovid (MEDLINE, Embase), Web of Science, Scopus and Cochrane Library as well as Grey literature sources. The eligibility and methodological quality of the included case-control and cross-sectional studies were assessed by two reviewers.

Peroneus longus ruptures are less common than ruptures of the peroneus brevis muscle and are seldom described in the literature. Ankle inversion injuries causing injury to the distal end of the peroneus longus muscle resulting in lateral compartment syndrome have been documented in the literature. We are presenting an unusual case of peroneal compartment syndrome with no overt ankle injury.

Painful os peroneum syndrome (POPS) is one of the uncommon causes of lateral foot pain in orthopaedic practice. POPS encompasses a spectrum of pathologies such as an acute or a chronic fracture, peroneus longus tenosynovitis, and attrition or partial rupture of the peroneus longus tendon.
