The performance of different solar-driven advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), such as TiO2/UV, TiO2/H2O2/UV, and Fe(2+)/H2O2/UV-visible in the treatment of a real textile effluent using a pilot plant with compound parabolic collectors (CPCs), was investigated. The influence of the main photo-Fenton reaction variables such as iron concentration (20-100 mg Fe(2+) L(-1)), pH (2.4-4.5), temperature (10-50 °C), and irradiance (22-68 WUV m(-2)) was evaluated in a lab-scale prototype using artificial solar radiation. The real textile wastewater presented a beige color, with a maximum absorbance peak at 641 nm, alkaline pH (8.1), moderate organic content (dissolved organic carbon (DOC) = 129 mg C L(-1) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) = 496 mg O2 L(-1)), and high conductivity mainly associated to the high concentration of chloride (1.1 g Cl(-) L(-1)), sulfate (0.4 g SO 4 (2 -) L(- 1)), and sodium (1.2 g Na(+) L(-1)) ions. Although all the processes tested contributed to complete decolorization and effective mineralization, the most efficient process was the solar photo-Fenton with an optimum catalyst concentration of 60 mg Fe(2+) L(-1), leading to 70 % mineralization (DOCfinal = 41 mg C L(-1); CODfinal < 150 mg O2 L(-1)) at pH 3.6, requiring a UV energy dose of 3.5 kJUV L(-1) (t 30 W = 22.4 min; [Formula: see text]; [Formula: see text]) and consuming 18.5 mM of H2O2.

Diabetes and cardiovascular disease are interlinked chronic conditions that necessitate continuous and precise monitoring of physiological and environmental parameters to prevent complications. Non-invasive monitoring technologies have garnered significant interest due to their potential to alleviate the current burden of diabetes and cardiovascular disease management. However, these technologies face limitations in accuracy and reliability due to interferences from physiological and environmental factors.

Cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) have gained increasing attention due to their robust mechanical properties, favorable biocompatibility, and facile surface modification. However, green and recyclable CNF production remains challenging. Herein, a green, low-cost and room-temperature strategy was developed to exfoliate CNFs using deep eutectic solvents.

Highly Stable Flexible SERS-Imprinted Membrane Based on Plasmonic MOF Material for the Selective Detection of Chrysoidin in Environmental Water.

Hainan Engineering Research Center of Tropical Ocean Advanced Opto-Electrical Functional Materials, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Hainan Normal University, Haikou 571158, China.

Chrysoidin (CG) can be ingested into the human body through the skin and cause chronic toxicity, so the detection of CG levels in the environment is crucial. In this study, we synthesize F-Ag@ZIF-8/PVC molecular-imprinted membranes (FZAP-MIM) by an innovative combination of SERS detection, membrane separation, and a molecular-imprinted technique in order to perform the analysis of CG in water. The plasmonic MOF material as a SERS substrate helps to enrich the target and realize the spatial overlap of the target with the nanoparticle tip "hotspot".

Mechanosensitive stacking structure with continuous solar controllability for real-time thermal management.

State Key Laboratory of New Textile Materials and Advanced Processing Technologies, Wuhan Textile University, Wuhan 430200, China.

Adaptive control of solar light based on an optical switching strategy is essential to tune thermal gain, while real-time solar regulation and hence on-demand thermal management coupled with dynamic conditions still faces a formidable challenge. Herein, we develop a stacking structure which is mechanosensitive and can be finely tuned depending on the dynamic cavitation effect. Specifically, the stacking structure transfers from a solid monolith state to porous layered state progressively under mechanical stretching, and the resulting porous layered state gradually goes back to the solid monolith state once the load is released.

Industrial and construction wastes make up about half of all world wastes. In order to reduce their negative impact on the environment, it is possible to use part of them for concrete production. Using experimental-statistical modeling techniques, the combined effect of brick powder, recycling sand, and alkaline activator on fresh and hardened properties of self-compacting concrete for the production of textile-reinforced concrete was investigated.
