Currently there is a steady growth of scientific information in medicine which unable complete knowledge of all the articles published. Meta-analysis are studies that aim to compile all available information, grouping them according to a specific outcome, and evaluating it through methodological quality tools. Its main objective is to estimate a summary effect size after combining the individual results of each study selected under a sufficiently valid statistical analysis. The following article is to describe the basic and fundamental concepts of traditional meta-analysis, taking this information as input for future reviews of "advanced methods in meta-analysis", such as indirect meta-analysis or network analysis.

Introduction: Whether the implementation of a multimodal prehabilitation program is effective and safe for high-risk heart or lung transplantation candidates, whose condition prevents hospital discharge, is unclear.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective study at a cardiothoracic transplant center in Chile. Two cohorts of hospitalized patients listed for heart or lung transplant were studied: the first underwent traditional (historical) and nonstructured prehabilitation, and the second underwent protocol-driven multimodal prehabilitation (MP).

Introduction: Traditional access cavity preparation involves removing the roof of the pulp chamber and smoothing the dentin bulges at the root canal orifice, thereby creating straight-line access. However, this may damage more healthy dental tissue and reduce the tooth's fracture resistance. Introduction: Rhizarthrosis, or osteoarthritis of the trapeziometacarpal joint, predominantly affects women over 50, with up to 30% experiencing some degree of arthritis in this joint.
