Deep learning-based metabolomics data study of prostate cancer.

BMC Bioinformatics

College of Computer Science and Technology, Inner Mongolia Minzu University, Tongliao, 028000, China.

As a heterogeneous disease, prostate cancer (PCa) exhibits diverse clinical and biological features, which pose significant challenges for early diagnosis and treatment. Metabolomics offers promising new approaches for early diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of PCa. However, metabolomics data are characterized by high dimensionality, noise, variability, and small sample sizes, presenting substantial challenges for classification.

Acute lung injury (ALI) is a devastating clinical syndrome without effective therapy. Celastrol, as a natural anti-inflammatory compound, has showed therapeutic potential against inflammatory diseases. In this study, we have investigated the potential effect of Celastrol on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced ALI.

Article Synopsis
  • Bullous emphysema is a chronic lung disease marked by the presence of large air spaces called bullae, with giant bullae being particularly significant and often requiring surgical removal known as bullectomy.
  • A 35-year-old man with a history of COVID-19 experienced chest pain and difficulty breathing, leading to the discovery of a giant bulla in his left lung on imaging scans.
  • Remarkably, after monitoring over several months, the giant bulla spontaneously resolved without surgery, suggesting that infectious processes may play a role in this phenomenon, highlighting the importance of careful imaging and follow-up in similar cases.
