A regular diminution of specific areas of synaptic contacts and active zones (AZs) along the terminals towards the distal parts has been first shown. The discontinuity was found in the terminal nerve branch apposition to the muscle fiber as a result of periodic intercalation of the Schwann cell and its processes into the synaptic gap. A significant variability in shapes of active zones lengthways the terminal is revealed. It is suggested that all these structural features may reflect the functional properties of synapses on the tonic muscle fibres.

Background: The match physical demands placed on soccer referees are intrinsically connected to their capacity to make accurate judgments, becoming the second most studied theme in associate soccer refereeing.

Objective: This study aims to review the external and internal load performed by soccer referees in high-level competitions, to identify changes in these indicators over different periods as the competition progresses, and to analyze the standards for dividing speed zones and heart rate zones.

Methods: Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, and EBSCOhost were thoroughly searched.

The biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using cyanobacteria has gained significant attention due to its cost-effective and eco-friendly advantages in green synthesis. Additionally, biogenic AgNPs show great potential for biological applications, particularly in combating infections caused by drug-resistant bacteria and fungi. This study synthesized using the cyanobacterium Oscillatoria salina (Os-AgNPs).

Comparative in Vitro Study on the Antimicrobial Efficacy of Endodontic Sealers Against Common Oral Pathogens.

Dent J (Basel)

December 2024

Department of Odontology and Oral Pathology, George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Targu Mures, 38 Gh. Marinescu Str., 540139 Târgu Mureș, Romania.

: Microorganisms are the leading cause of infections in the root canal system, contributing to the failure of endodontic treatments. This in vitro study aimed to compare the antimicrobial effects of four different endodontic sealers: Endomethasone N (Septodont, Saint Maur-des-Fossés, France), Sealapex (Kerr Corporation, Orange, CA, USA), AH Plus Jet (Dentsply DeTrey GmbH, Konstanz, Germany), and MTA Fillapex (Angelus, Londrina, Brazil). : The sealers were tested against common oral pathogens, including Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, and Streptococcus mutans, using the agar diffusion method.

Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, Beirut Arab University, Tripoli, 1300, Lebanon.

The present study reports the characterization of the phytochemical content and the antibacterial activity of ethanolic extracts from the leaves (LE) and stems (SE) of against Methicillin resistant (MRSA. Important functional groups were determined by analyzing the FTIR spectra of LE and SE. The phytochemical profiles were analyzed by GC-MS, and these characterized the chemicals according to retention periods and peak regions.
