Background: This study aimed to assess the prognosis of T1-2N0 stage tongue cancer patients who underwent surgery for the primary lesion without elective neck dissection and to identify the risk factors for prognosis.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed early-stage tongue cancer patients in our center. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS and R software.

Background: Oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma is the most prevalent cancer of the oral cavity. To date, the mainstay management for carcinoma in situ of the oral cavity is the surgical radical removal of the neoplastic tis-sue. This paper describes a new approach in the management of an in situ carcinoma of the tongue margin, treated surgically by the use of Nd:YAG laser, the application of cross-liked hyaluronic acid (xHyA) gel and the placement of a resorbable porcine pericardium membrane (PPM).

The stability of messenger RNA (mRNA) is controlled by proteins that bind to adenosine-uridine-rich sequences (AREs) in their 3' untranslated regions (3'UTR), known as AU-binding proteins. One of these proteins is tristetraprolin (TTP; encoded by ), which promotes degradation of mRNAs with AREs in their 3'UTR. TTP accelerates the decay of its target transcripts, many of which encode proinflammatory mediators that promote tumorigenesis.

Tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC), a subtype of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, is characterized by frequent chemoresistance. Genetic mutations commonly observed in TSCC play a critical role in malignant progression; thus, elucidating their functional significance is essential for developing effective treatment strategies. To more accurately investigate the relationship between mutations and chemoresistance, we established low-passage TSCC cells, CTSC-1, obtained from a chemoresistant patient, and CTSC-2, from a treatment-naïve patient.
