Double-orifice tricuspid valve (DOTV) is a very rare congenital cardiac anomaly. We report an unusual example of DOTV where one orifice was committed to the left ventricle. This was identified preoperatively and managed surgically.

Unlabelled: Mycobacterial cell envelopes are rich in unusual lipids and glycans that play key roles during infection and vaccination. The most abundant envelope glycolipid is trehalose dimycolate (TDM). TDM compromises the host response to mycobacterial species via multiple mechanisms, including inhibition of phagosome maturation.

Possible glendonite mineral pseudomorphs in the aftermath of the end-Permian extinction.

Sci Rep

Grant Institute, School of Geosciences, University of Edinburgh, James Hutton Road, Edinburgh, EH9 3FE, UK.

Glendonites (from the precursor of ikaite, CaCO.6HO) preferentially precipitate within sediments in cold waters (- 2 to 7°C) via either organotrophic or methanogenic sulphate reduction. Here, we report the first occurrence of possible glendonites associated with the end Permian mass extinction in the earliest Triassic (ca.

The marsupial moles are arguably Australia's most enigmatic marsupials. Almost indistinguishable from placental (eutherian) moles, they provide a striking example of convergent evolution. Exploring the genome of the southern marsupial mole, we provide insights into its unusual biology.

Norcrohalane A, an Unusual C nor-Halimane-Type Diterpenoid from Croton crassifolius.

Chem Biodivers

December 2024

State Key Laboratory of Bioactive Molecules and Druggability Assessment, and Guangdong Province Key Laboratory of Pharmacodynamic Constituents of TCM & New Drugs Research College of Pharmacy, Jinan University, Guangzhou, P. R. China.

An unusual C nor-halimane-type diterpenoid, norcrohalane A (1), a new nor-lasserane-type sesquiterpenoid, norcrolasane A (2), along with four known compounds (3-6) were isolated from the roots of Croton crassifolius. Compound 1 represents the first example of a C nor-halimane-type diterpenoid, which features a rare 6/6/6 tricyclic ring system, and the A ring is aromatic. Compound 2 is a rare nor-lasserane-type sesquiterpenoid.

Dicationic, -symmetrical, tris-chelate Pt(IV) complexes of general formula [Pt(trz)(N∧N)](OTf), bearing two cyclometalated 4-butyl-3-methyl-1-phenyl-1-1,2,3-triazol-5-ylidene (trz) ligands and one aromatic diimine [N∧N = 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy, ), 4,4'-di--butyl-2,2'-bipyridine (dbbpy, ), 4,4'-dimethoxi-2,2'-bipyridine (dMeO-bpy, ), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen, ), 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (bphen, ), dipyrido[3,2-:2',3'-]phenazine (dppz, ), or 2,3-diphenylpyrazino[2,3-][1,10]phenanthroline (dpprzphen, )] are obtained through chloride abstraction from [PtCl(trz)] () using AgOTf in the presence of the corresponding diimine. Complexes show long-lived phosphorescence from LC excited states involving the diimine ligand, with quantum yields that reach 0.18 in solution and 0.
