The electrochemical memristor based on a pH-switchable polymer-modified electrode integrated with a biofuel cell was designed and proposed for interfacing between biomolecular information processing and electronic systems. The present approach demonstrates a new application of biofuel cells in information processing systems, rather than for electrical power generation.

Brain neural networks intricately integrate excitatory and inhibitory synaptic potentials to modulate the generation or suppression of action potentials, laying the foundation for neuronal computation. Although bioinspired nanofluidic systems have replicated some synaptic functions, complete integration of postsynaptic potentials remains unachieved. In this work, the developed ion concentration gradient nanofluidic memristor (ICGNM) modulates memristive effects through ion concentration gradient adjustments and exhibits synaptic plasticity phenomena, including paired-pulse facilitation, paired-pulse depression, and spike-rate-dependent plasticity.

Thin films fabricated from solution-processed graphene nanosheets are of considerable technological interest for a wide variety of applications, such as transparent conductors, supercapacitors, and memristors. However, very thin printed films tend to have low conductivity compared to thicker ones. In this work, we demonstrate a simple layer-by-layer deposition method which yields thin films of highly-aligned, electrochemically-exfoliated graphene which have low roughness and nanometer-scale thickness control.

The introduction of heterovalent metal ion doping in the lead (Pb) halide perovskites presents a novel opportunity to manipulate the electronic and ionic properties by introducing dopant charges and increasing the carrier concentration in single crystals. While previous studies have reported on the use of bismuth (Bi) doping in methylammonium lead tribromide (MAPbBr) to adjust the optical properties, the comprehensive impact of Bi doping on the structural and electronic properties of MAPbBr single crystals remains unexplored. This research, therefore, delves into the anomalous behavior of the structural, optical, and electrical properties of pristine and doped MAPbBr single crystals through a combination of experimental and computational studies.

Neuromorphic hardware facilitates rapid and energy-efficient training and operation of neural network models for artificial intelligence. However, existing analog in-memory computing devices, like memristors, continue to face significant challenges that impede their commercialization. These challenges include high variability due to their stochastic nature.
