Introduction: The ability to admit patients to enhanced or critical care may be limited by bed availability. In a network with low provision of critical and enhanced care beds, we aimed to assess the proportion of patients having surgery with moderate (1%-< 5%) or high (≥ 5%) predicted risk of 30-day postoperative mortality and their postoperative care location. We also aimed to study referral and admission outcomes to critical care.

The microvascular bed plays a crucial role in establishing nutrient exchange and waste removal, as well as maintaining tissue metabolic activity in the human body. However, achieving microvascularization of engineered 3D tissue constructs is still an unsolved challenge. In this work, we developed biomimetic cell-laden hydrogel microfibers recapitulating oriented microvascular capillary-like networks by using a 3D bioprinting technique combined with microfluidics-assisted coaxial wet-spinning.

Objective: To test (1) the feasibility of the 7-week parent-administered screen time intervention (PASTI) in toddlers (aged 16-30 months) who have screen time in the hour before bed and (2) the impact of PASTI on toddlers' sleep and attention.
