To identify candidate genes and pathways involved in testicular development in Takifugu rubripes, a comparative transcription analysis was conducted across the various developmental stages of the testis (stages II to V). A total of 9520 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified among the different stages, and they were significantly clustered into six clusters (P < 0.05).

Background: Prescription opioids are responsible for a significant proportion of opioid-related deaths in the United States. Approximately 6% of opioid-naïve patients who receive opioid prescriptions after surgery become chronic opioid users. However, chronic opioid use after bariatric surgery may be twice as common.

Hemorrhagic shock is a significant cause of trauma-related mortality. Resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) is a less-invasive aortic occlusion maneuver for severe hemorrhagic shock but potentially inducing oxidative stress injuries. In an animal model, this study investigated hydrogen gas inhalation therapy's potential to mitigate post-REBOA ischemia-reperfusion injuries (IRIs).

Background: Robotic-assisted bariatric surgery is growing rapidly. The optimal approach to minimize complications remains unclear.
Objective: Assess robot utilization and compare 30-day outcomes for laparoscopic and robotic primary sleeve gastrectomy (SG) and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) using the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) database.

Background: Mesenchymal stem cells may have neuroprotective and tissue regenerative capabilities and the potential to rescue retinal degeneration in chorioretinal diseases including myopic chorioretinal atrophy. Transplantation of human (allogeneic) adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cell (adMSC) suspensions has been clinically conducted to treat retinal degenerative diseases. However, serious side effects including proliferative vitreoretinopathy and epiretinal membrane formation have been reported.
