This study aimed to investigate the changes induced by the culture system and the effect of ascorbic acid and resveratrol on collagen fibers, stromal cells, follicle growth and survival, as well as antioxidant enzyme activity in cultured bovine ovarian tissues. In experiment 1, bovine ovarian fragments were cultured in α-minimum essential medium (α-MEM) for 6 days. Before and after culturing, the fragments were fixed and processed to assess follicular morphology and diameters, stromal cell survival, collagen fibers, and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs).

Nose-to-Brain Targeting of Resveratrol Nanoformulations.

Curr Vasc Pharmacol

January 2025

Department of Neuroscience, Faculty of Medicine, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Mashhad, Iran.

Resveratrol [RES] is a polyphenolic stilbene with therapeutic potential owing to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and cardioprotective properties. However, the very poor oral bioavailability, fast metabolism, and extremely low stability under physiological conditions pose a severe detriment to the clinical use of RES. This newly developed field of nanotechnology has led to the formulation of RES into nanoformulations with the goal of overcoming metabolicpharmacokinetic limitations and enhancing the targeted transport of RES to the central nervous system [CNS].

Unlabelled: The potential of (), an underutilized plant rich in medicinal and nutritional value, for producing ready-to-serve (RTS) beverages was explored. The research investigated commercial processing techniques for extracting fruit juice and the impact of stabilizers such as pectin (low and high), xanthan gum, and sodium alginate on beverage quality. Sodium alginate, chosen for its sedimentation rate and sensory acceptability, was further optimized in RTS formulations.
