The electrochemical reduction reaction (RR) of CO to high value multicarbon products is highly desirable for carbon utilization. Dual transition metal atoms dispersed by N-doped graphene are able to be highly efficient catalysts for this process due to the synergy of the bimetallic sites for C-C coupling. In this work, we screened homonuclear dual-atom catalysts dispersed by N-doped graphene to investigate the potential in CO reduction to C products by employing density functional theory calculations.

Introduction: IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is one of the most prevalent forms of glomerulonephritis worldwide, particularly affecting 40-50% of the East Asian population. Cardiovascular mortality represents a leading cause of death in patients with IgAN. Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) serves as a predictor of heart failure and cardiovascular mortality.

Background: Prolonged Grief Disorder is a multidimensional condition with adverse health consequences. We hypothesized that enhanced negative emotional bias characterizes this disorder and underlies its key clinical symptoms.

Methods: In a cross-sectional design, chronically grieving older adults (61.

Cyclization: A potential effective modification strategy for umami peptides.

Food Chem

December 2024

Department of Food Science & Technology, School of Agriculture & Biology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai 200240, PR China; School of Food Science and Engineering, Ningxia University, Yinchuan 750021, China. Electronic address:

Cyclization enhances various properties of peptides and has been widely used in life sciences, but it has not been explored in taste peptides. Our study found that cyclization of the N/C termini of the peptides (head-to-tail) via amide bond is a potentially effective modification strategy for umami peptides to improve their properties. This is the first report on umami cyclic peptides.

A cross-linked coating loaded with antimicrobial peptides for corrosion control, early antibacterial, and sequential osteogenic promotion on a magnesium alloy as orthopedic implants.

Acta Biomater

December 2024

Department of Bone & Joint Surgery, National & Local Joint Engineering Research Center of Orthopaedic Biomaterials, Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, Shenzhen 518036, PR China. Electronic address:

Magnesium (Mg)-based alloys have been recognized as desirable biodegradable materials for orthopedic implants. However, their clinical application has been limited by rapid degradation rates, insufficient antibacterial and osteogenic-promotion properties. Herein, a MgF priming layer was first constructed on AZ31 surface.
