For many years it has been suggested that the subjective outcome of the operation of submucosal diathermy to the inferior turbinates (SMD) may be predicted by pre-operatively testing the ability of the nasal mucosa to decongest with topical vasoconstrictor agents. This study of 22 patients undergoing SMD, confirms that the pre-operative decongestion produced by xylometazoline is both a good subjective (P less than 0.001) and objective (P less than 0.002) predictor of outcome. If a significant reduction in nasal resistance is achieved by the application of topical decongestants, then the operation of SMD is likely to be effective.

Purpose: To investigate the feasibility, safety and efficacy of high intensity focused ultrasound ablation (HIFU) as a preoperative treatment for challenging hysteroscopic myomectomies.
Materials And Methods: A total of 75 patients diagnosed with types 0-III of uterine fibroids were enrolled. Based on the Size, Topography, Extension of the base, Penetration and lateral Wall position (STEPW) classification scoring system, 25 cases with a score ≥ 5 points were treated with HIFU followed by hysteroscopic myomectomy (HIFU + HM group), whereas 50 cases with a score < 5 points were treated with hysteroscopic myomectomy (HM group).

Objectives: To compare and measure post-operative outcomes among various surgical techniques for reducing inferior turbinate hypertrophy (ITH), and to identify the factors associated with the clinical outcomes of turbinoplasty in patients with this condition.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out from January 2021 to December 2022 at the Otorhinolaryngology Department of King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A total of 301 adult patients with ITH were included and were divided into different groups.
