High speed instruments are versatile instruments used by clinicians of all specialties of dentistry. It is important for clinicians to understand the types of high speed handpieces available and the mechanism of working. The centers for disease control and prevention have issued guidelines time and again for disinfection and sterilization of high speed handpieces. This article presents the recent developments in the design of the high speed handpieces. With a view to prevent hospital associated infections significant importance has been given to disinfection, sterilization & maintenance of high speed handpieces. Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease initially treated with mesalazine (5-ASA). However, its effectiveness is limited by rapid absorption, low colonic concentration, and exacerbation of dysbiosis. Probiotics can mitigate dysbiosis if they survive the acidic conditions of the stomach.

Although there is currently sufficient information on various parameters of capillary blood flow, including the average values of blood velocity, there is no data on the dynamics of velocity and the mechanisms of its modulation in various parts of the capillary. The main idea of this work is to develop a tool and image data processing to study the characteristics of the capillary blood flow dynamics. In this study, using the developed method of high-speed videocapillaroscopy, the red blood cells (RBC) velocities in the arterial and venous parts of the nailfold capillaries were compared and a time-frequency analysis of the dynamics of the velocity signals with the calculation of phase coherence was performed.

Dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI is an important imaging tool for evaluating tumor vascularity that can lead to improved characterization of tumor extent and heterogeneity, and for early assessment of treatment response. However, clinical adoption of quantitative DCE-MRI remains limited due to challenges in acquisition and quantification performance, and lack of automated tools. This study presents an end-to-end deep learning pipeline that exploits a novel deep reconstruction network called DCE-Movienet with a previously developed deep quantification network called DCE-Qnet for fast and quantitative DCE-MRI.

Histone post-translational modifications (PTMs) regulate gene expression patterns through epigenetic mechanisms. The 5 histone proteins (H1, H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) are extensively modified, with over 75 distinct modification types spanning more than 200 sites. Despite strong advances in mass spectrometry-based approaches, identification and quantification of modified histone peptides remains challenging due to factors such as isobaric peptides, pseudo-isobaric PTMs, and low stoichiometry of certain marks.
