Objective: To reveal ultrastructural features of iridociliary vessels after biopuncture with antihomotoxic medicine.

Methods: Myopia model was created on 10 rabbits by injecting all trans-retinoic acid in catheter Vasofix Certo 24G in left internal carotid artery until we got low myopia. After six months of daily injections all rabbits had myopia from -2,0 to 3,0 D. Animals were separated into two groups: 5 rabbits with daily intradermal injection in three points of upper eye lid without medicine during 10 days and 5 rabbits with daily intradermal injection in three points of upper eye lid with Cerebrum Compositum N during 10 days. Morphology of iridociliary system was explored.

Results: Biopuncture in myopia model increases level of metabolic reactions in iridociliary system, supplies adaptive reserves by the hemodynamic enrichment of ciliary body vessels and balance of autonomic nervous system impulsation.

Introduction: The treatment of iridociliary and choroidal melanoma relies on the patient's systemic health, tumor size, location, related features, state of the opposing eye, and personal preferences. The two categories are radiation and surgical techniques. Transpupillary thermotherapy, plaque radiotherapy, charged particle irradiation, local resection, enucleation, orbital exenteration, and experimental nanoparticle therapy are all options for treating choroidal melanoma.

Purpose: Herein, we study if high-dose-rate (HDR) yttrium-90 (Y) brachytherapy could be utilized by medical physicists, radiation oncologists, and ophthalmic surgeons.

Methods And Materials: Yttrium-90 (Y) beta-emitting brachytherapy sources received United States Food and Drug Administration clearance for episcleral treatment of ocular tumors and benign growths. Dose calibration traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology as well as treatment planning and target delineation methods were established.

ICL Postimplantation Decentration and Tilt in Myopic Patients with Primary Iridociliary Cysts.

J Ophthalmol

January 2023

Tianjin Key Laboratory of Retinal Functions and Diseases, Tianjin Branch of National Clinical Research Center for Ocular Disease, Eye Institute and School of Optometry, Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital, Tianjin 300384, China.

Purpose: To observe the decentration and tilt of implantable collamer lens (ICL) as well as possible visual effects postimplantation in primary iridociliary cysts.

Methods: The present investigation was a retrospective cohort study. All 48 patients (91 eyes) who underwent ICL surgery at the Center of Refraction Surgery of Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital between July 2018 and May 2020 were split into two groups based on the absence or presence of primary iridociliary cysts established by ultrasonic biological microscopy (UBM) examination.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess the ultrasound biomicroscopic features of primary iridociliary cysts in patients at a Canadian healthcare center.
  • A total of 189 patients, predominantly females aged 21-30, were evaluated, with the majority having cysts associated with the iris pigment epithelium.
  • Follow-up showed that most cysts remained stable in size over time, indicating a low risk of complications.

Purpose: To report a case of age-related hypertrophy of the nonpigmented ciliary epithelium (ARH-NPCE) clinically resembling a ciliary body melanoma and report the optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) findings associated with this lesion.

Observations: A 51-year-old male was referred for evaluation of a deeply pigmented ciliary body mass with extension through the iris root. Iridocyclectomy was performed due to concern for ciliary body melanoma.
