The global burden of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and severe associated disease is prodigious. RSV-specific vaccines have been launched recently but there is no antiviral medicine commercially available. RSV polymerase (L) protein is one of the promising antiviral targets, along with fusion and nucleocapsid proteins.

Free-living amoebae of the genus are causative agents of keratitis and amoebic encephalitis. They are widely found in various ecological environments. Therefore, the present study brings results that can help to better understand the genotypes of the environmental isolates and their pathogenicity.

Background: Mpox (formerly known as monkeypox), a zoonotic disease caused by Monkeypox virus (MPXV), has become an international outbreak since May 2022. Mpox often presents with a mild systemic illness and a characteristic vesiculopustular skin eruption. In addition to molecular testing, histopathology of cutaneous lesions usually shows distinctive findings, such as epidermal necrosis, balloon degeneration, papillary dermal edema, and focal dermal necrosis, which have proven helpful in the diagnosis of mpox.

Long-lasting persistence within infected cells is a major challenge for viral pathogens, as it necessitates an exact regulation of viral replication to reduce viral cytopathic effects. This is particularly challenging for viruses that persistently infect cells with limited renewal capabilities, such as neurons. Accordingly, neurotropic viruses have evolved various specific mechanisms to promote a long-lasting persistent infection in the host cells without inducing an exacerbated cytopathic effect.

Background And Aim: Avian influenza is a global threat to avian species, particularly in developing countries. Recombinant vaccines, including virus-like particles (VLPs), are promising strategies for preventing the spread of the disease. VLPs produced through the self-assembly of viral structural proteins without genomic material mimic native virions and are promising platforms for new vaccines.
