Prismatic glasses are used to deflect rays of light. In ophthalmology, prisms are mainly used to correct double vision caused by strabismus which is acquired after early childhood. In congenital or infantile strabismus, the image of the deviated eye is usually suppressed so that double vision does not occur and prismatic glasses are not indicated. Latent strabismus is very common and only rarely leads to double vision or asthenopic symptoms so that correction with prismatic glasses is only indicated in exceptional cases. The "Measuring and Correcting Methodology after H.-J. Haase" is based on flawed assumptions, and therefore can not be recommended for the prescription of prisms.

Objective: To investigate caries preventive effects of 38 % silver diamine fluoride (SDF) pretreatment on neighboring tooth proximal to glass ionomer cement (GIC), including conventional GIC (CGIC) and resin-modified GIC (RMGIC) restorations in an in vitro model.
Methods: HUMAN TOOTH BLOCKS WERE RESTORED WITH: SDF+CGIC (Group 1), CGIC (Group 2), SDF+RMGIC (Group 3) or RMGIC (Group 4). Enamel specimen simulating proximal surface of neighboring tooth was placed in proximity to the restorations.

Clinical Relevance: Acute acquired comitant esotropia (AACE) is becoming increasingly common in young children. Understanding clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes can inform future practice.
Background: To evaluate clinical characteristics of myopic children and adolescents with AACE, and the outcomes of varying treatments.

Background: Prismatic adaptation (PA) is a visuomotor technique using prismatic glasses that are capable of moving the visual field and to affect the excitability of certain brain areas. The aim of this pilot study was to explore potential acute effects of PA on penalty kick accuracy and postural control in youth soccer players.
Methods: In this randomized crossover study, seven young male soccer players performed three PA sessions (rightward PA, r-PA; leftward PA, l-PA; sham PA, s-PA) with a washout period of 1-week between them.

Purpose: To report a case of cyclic esotropia successfully treated with prismatic correction.
Observations: A 9-year-old girl presented with intermittent esotropia and diplopia occurring over the previous 4 months. The patient had 30 prism diopters (PD) of esotropia at both distance and near.
