Objective: The objective of this study is to observe the gross and histological changes of free-grafted peritendon tissue.
Methods: The incisions were made in the bilateral Achilles tendon sites in six healthy rabbits weighing 2.0-2.5kg. The peritendon tissue flaps of about 2.0cm×0.5cm size were harvested and free-grafted into the contralateral donor sites. After 3 weeks, three animals were sacrificed, and after 6 weeks the remaining three animals were sacrificed. The peritendon tissue specimens were sampled for gross observation and histological observation.
Results: Gross observation after 3 weeks: the peritendon tissue became thick, there was tissue proliferation, and the deep surface was smooth. Histological observation after 3 weeks: inflammatory cells in the peritendon tissue were observed, many fibroblasts proliferated in the superficial surface, and some neovascularization was observed. Tissue growth could be seen in the suture site. Gross observation after 6 weeks: the peritendon tissue looked thick and the deep surface was smooth. Histological observation after 6 weeks: inflammatory cells in the peritendon tissue were significantly reduced and there were still more fibroblasts in the tissues. Neovascularization was obvious and the suture site was firmly healed. No signs of necrosis were found at the two time points, and the structure of the free-grafted peritendon tissue was almost the same as the structure of the peripheral tissue.
Conclusion: The peritendon tissue can survive well after being free-grafted into the tendon surface and the structure shows no obvious changes.

Methods: In this observational, multicentre, prospective study, 88 cases of symptomatic hand dactylitis were evaluated clinically and sonographically by high-frequency ultrasound (US) probe in both greyscale (GS) and power Doppler (PD). The presence of flexor tenosynovitis (FT), soft tissue oedema (STO), peritendon extensor inflammation and synovitis was assessed (including DACtylitis glObal Sonographic-DACTOS-score) before treatment, at 1-month (T1) and 3-months (T3) follow-up.

Tendons are among the most mechanically stressed tissues of the body, with a functional core of type-I collagen fibers maintained by embedded stromal fibroblasts known as tenocytes. The intrinsic load-bearing core compartment of tendon is surrounded, nourished, and repaired by the extrinsic peritendon, a synovial-like tissue compartment with access to tendon stem/progenitor cells as well as blood monocytes. In vitro tendon model systems generally lack this important feature of tissue compartmentalization, while in vivo models are cumbersome when isolating multicellular mechanisms.

Methods: The literature on the application of medical biomaterials in the prevention and treatment of tendon adhesions in recent years was reviewed, and the biological process, treatment methods, and current status of tendon adhesions were summarized.
Results: Tendon adhesion as part of the healing process of the tendon is the biological response of the tendon to the injury and is also a common complication of joint dysfunction.

Objectives: Dactylitis is one of the most typical features of psoriatic arthritis (PsA), with a high lifetime prevalence and inclusion in PsA clinical indices. Musculoskeletal ultrasonography (Msk-US) can readily detect inflammatory involvement of finger anatomical structures particular to dactylitis and monitor therapeutic effects. In this study, we aim to identify the characteristic lesions in PsA dactylitis of the hands, assess the reliability of Msk-US in scoring those lesions and develop a DACTylitis glObal Sonographic (DACTOS) score.
