We describe a patient in whom pulmonary nodules developed without infectious symptoms during treatment with bleomycin, cis-platinum, vinblastine and etoposide combination chemotherapy for metastatic extra-gonadal germ cell tumor. At thoracotomy only fibrosis was found. In this case, false-positive elevation of alpha-fetoprotein and the CT scan appearance made us interpret the pulmonary nodules as new metastatic lesions.

CT chest scans are commonly performed worldwide, either in routine clinical practice for a wide range of indications or as part of lung cancer screening programs. Many of these scans detect lung nodules, which are small, rounded opacities measuring 8-30 mm. While the concern about nodules is that they may represent early lung cancer, in screening programs, only 1% of such nodules turn out to be cancer.

Purpose: Low-dose CT (LDCT) screening effectively reduces lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) mortality. However, accurately evaluating the malignant potential of indeterminate lung nodules remains a challenge. Carcinoembryonic antigen cell adhesion molecule 6 (CEACAM6), a potential biomarker for distinguishing benign pulmonary nodules from LUAD, may be leveraged for noninvasive positron emission tomography (PET) imaging to aid LUAD diagnosis.

Most studies on ultrasound have evaluated mediastinal nodes in children with tuberculosis (TB), but very few studies are available on lung ultrasound (LUS) appearances in proven PTB.
Purpose: To study the LUS appearances in children with microbiologically proven PTB and to assess the inter-observer agreement.

Introduction: The aim of the study was to study the clinical profile and outcomes of nocardiosis in renal allograft recipients.
Methods: This was a retrospective study of clinical outcomes in consecutive renal allograft recipients with infection over a 22-year period (2000-2022) from a tertiary care center in Southern India. The clinical data were obtained from electronic medical records and patient files.

Objective: To analyze the characteristics of pulmonary nodules (PNs) and related influencing factors in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Methods: Retrospectively analyzed the clinical and biochemical characteristics of 224 patients with PNs and 488 patients with non-PNs in patients with T2DM, and compared the clinical data of 72 patients with large nodules (≥ 5 mm) and 152 patients with small nodules (< 5 mm) in the pulmonary nodules (PNs) group.
Results: Compared to the non-PNs group, the PNs Patients in the group had a longer duration of diabetes, higher age, serum creatinine (SCR), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and the lower albumin (ALB) and body mass index (BMI); women, diabetic retinopathy (DR), diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) < 60 ml/min1.
