We examined the association of mothers' thin-ideal internalization and children's drive for thinness. Early adolescents (175 girls and 198 boys) completed a questionnaire to assess their drive for thinness and perceptions of mothers' attitudes and behaviors related to body shape. The questionnaire for mothers (n = 206) measured mothers' thin-ideal internalization. Mothers' thin-ideal internalization was associated with girls' drive for thinness through the perception of mothers' attitudes directed to girls, and with boys' drive for thinness through mothers' weight-loss behavior. The findings suggest the possibility that mothers transmit social standards on body shape to their children.
While sexual minority (SM) status has been associated with poorer body image and greater eating pathology among men, findings are inconsistent among women. The lack of focus on muscularity-oriented attitudes and behaviors among SM women may contribute to these mixed findings; thus, we examined these constructs within a large sample of SM and heterosexual women. Our sample included 1511 cisgender women (n= 1213 heterosexual, n= 298 SM).
This study compared treatment outcomes in anorexia nervosa (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN) based on different severity indicators from DSM-5 and ICD-11 among 628 female participants seeking treatment.
Results indicated significant differences in treatment outcomes for ICD-11 severity groups, particularly showing that participants with 'dangerously low BMI' had worse outcomes than those with 'significantly low BMI'.
The findings highlight the limitations of relying on a single severity measure and call for more comprehensive assessments and future research to evaluate the effectiveness of these indicators in relation to biological and psychological factors.

This study examines associations of disordered eating trajectory profiles (from 13 to 21 years), with BMI and related cardiometabolic features at ages 21, 24 and 27.
Methods: Participants are from the Epidemiological Health Investigation of Teenagers cohort (Porto, Portugal).
Introduction: The impact of antipsychotic use on weight gain and eating disorder-related psychopathology in adult inpatients with anorexia nervosa (AN) is unclear.
Methods: Consecutively hospitalized adults with AN were retrospectively analyzed. Co-primary outcomes were body mass index (BMI) and weekly weight change.
Economic growth is associated with reductions in undernutrition. However, in developing countries, malnutrition still exists as a double burden. A better understanding of the dynamics of malnutrition in such societies as a means of aiding policymakers and implementers is thus needed.
