According to the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, more than 1,000 workers are killed by occupational accidents and diseases every year, in Japan. The number of workers, who took more than 3 days of sick leave with work-related diseases, reaches 7,000-8,000 every year. Prevention of work-related diseases is essential to maintain and promote workers' health and to ensure quality of their working life. It is required that not only occupational health care staff but also clinicians pay more attention to the detection and prevention of work-related diseases.

Background: Musculoskeletal disorders represent a significant occupational problem due to poor ergonomic workstations among medical laboratory professionals; however, there is limited information regarding ergonomic-related musculoskeletal disorders among laboratory personnel in Ethiopia, particularly in eastern Ethiopia.
Methods: An institutional-based cross-sectional study design was implemented among 241 Medical Laboratory Professionals (MLPs) from December 20, 2023, to January 20, 2024. A standardized questionnaire adapted from the Nordic musculoskeletal questionnaire and a combination of self-administered surveys and direct observational techniques was used for data collection.

Introduction: Professional caregivers (nursing assistants and personal care aides) in nursing homes (NH) and assisted living (AL) provide the majority of long-term residential care for persons with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Their work is stressful, but until recently, no measures were available to assess stress in this workforce. Using the new Long-Term Care Cope (LTC COPE) scale, this study evaluates the relationship of coping with staff demographic characteristics and outcomes; the findings can be used to develop and evaluate interventions to improve staff well-being.
