Objective: Research in Eastern India especially among children and adolescents for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) have not been well documented until recently when it was conducted at a cancer institute of tertiary care with primary objectives of examining and correlating different cell surface markers involved with respect to disease surveillance thereby highlighting it as a strong prognostic marker for future diagnosis and treatment.
Materials And Methods: A total of 500 consecutively selected ALL patients were diagnosed and treated according to National Cancer Institute protocol (MCP 841) for a period of 24-88 months during this hospital-based study.
Results: Of the total, 50.4% had a higher incidence of T-ALL and 47.6% had pro-B, B-cell precursor ALL. Disease free survival and event free survival were remarkably higher in B-ALL adolescent patients as compared to T-ALL, who had significantly lower overall survival ratio. Prevalence of T-ALL was also observed in relapse cases for adolescent patients.
Conclusions: We conclude that there is an increased prevalence of T-ALL among adolescents in Eastern India. Immunophenotypic analysis might help in proper evaluation and prediction of treatment outcomes with an increased thrust on studying age-specific incident rates enabling well planned future treatments for improved and better outcome.

Importance: Depressive symptoms are associated with cognitive decline in older individuals. Uncertainty about underlying mechanisms hampers diagnostic and therapeutic efforts. This large-scale study aimed to elucidate the association between depressive symptoms and amyloid pathology.

In such patients, scleral-fixated intraocular lens (SFIOL) implantation is preferred due to its fewer complications and better simulation of the natural lens position. In this non-randomized retrospective clinical study, we aimed to assess visual outcomes after sutureless SFIOL implantation in aphakic patients and factors affecting visual outcomes.

Introduction: Black rice (Oryza sativa L.) has gained prominence as a functional food because of its rich content of anthocyanins and polyphenols, offering potential health benefits. However, comprehensive research addressing the diverse anthocyanin compositions in black rice cultivars remains limited.

Background Antimicrobials considerably reduce infectious conditions, but their overuse and misuse contribute to various adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and antimicrobial resistance. In 2019, India adopted a national program to reduce antibiotic resistance for 2019-2021. Assessing antibiotic consumption among the out-patient and in-patient departments is paramount because it is the foundation for implementing and assessing antibiotic stewardship initiatives.

Leprosy, or Hansen's disease, is an ancient infectious disease characterized by varied clinical presentations influenced by the host's immune response. This study aimed to explore the atypical manifestations of Hansen's disease in a cohort of 15 biopsy-confirmed patients admitted to the Department of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy at a tertiary care center in Andhra Pradesh, India. There were 14 male patients and one female patient, with a mean age of 42.
