Rather a few publications devoted to eosinophilic otitis media (EoOM) can be found in the literature. This condition refractory to the treatment is characterized by the elevated number of eosinophils in the exudate and mucosal membrane of the middle ear. The disease is not infrequently associated with bronchial asthma and polypous rhinosinusitis. The patients presenting with eosinophilic otitis suffer the progressive loss of hearing; some of them all of a sudden develop deafness. The present literature reviews is focused on the clinical features of eosinophilic otitis media and the available methods for its treatment.
