People preferentially endorse positive personality traits as more self-descriptive than negative ones, a positivity self-referential bias. Here, we investigated how to enhance positive self-referential processing, integrating wakeful cue-approach training task (CAT) and sleep-based targeted memory reactivation (TMR). In the CAT, participants gave speeded motor responses to cued positive personality traits.

Computed tomography (CT) is a non-invasive, three-dimensional imaging tool used in medical imaging, forensic science, industry and engineering, anthropology, and archaeology. The current study used high-resolution medical CT scanning of 431 animal skulls, including 399 dog skulls from 152 breeds, 14 cat skulls from 9 breeds, 14 skulls from 8 wild canid species (gray wolf, golden jackal, coyote, maned wolf, bush dog, red fox, Fennec fox, bat-eared fox), and 4 skulls from 4 wild felid species (wildcat, leopard, serval, caracal). This comprehensive and unique collection of CT image series of skulls can provide a solid foundation not only for comparative anatomical and evolutionary studies but also for the advancement of veterinary education, virtual surgery planning, and the facilitation of training in sophisticated machine learning methodologies.

Background: Antibiotic prescription for respiratory tract infections (RTIs) in children attending primary care centres is almost double that predicted according to bacterial prevalence. Delayed antibiotic prescription (DAP) is designed to deploy a more rational use of antibiotics. While studies have evaluated DAP efficacy and safety for children with RTIs, little research has been conducted on the economic implications.

In this study, we investigated the effects of different natural organic acids (NOAs), L-ascorbic acid (AA) and (+)-catechin hydrate (CAT), on the activation of persulfate (PDS) for the oxidation of naproxen (NAP) in water and soil. We found that only AA-activated PDS process had a significant degradation efficiency of NAP in water. High AA concentration (500 μM) inhibited the degradation of NAP, whereas high levels of PDS (7.

Herein the synthesis of 1,8-naphthalimides functionalised as the 3,4-dihydroxy-1,8-naphthalimide (catechol, Nap-Cat) and the corresponding 15-crown-5 (Nap-Crown) is reported. These compounds represent the first examples where these two recognition groups are directly incorporated into the 1,8-naphthalimide ring system. Both Nap-Cat and Nap-Crown were evaluated for their capacity to respond to analytes such as HO (a mimic for cellular oxidation) and metal ions (as elements of environmental and physiological interest).
