Background/objectives: Standard chemotherapy is generally considered the best approach to treat many solid cancers, even accounting for severe side effects. Therefore, the development of a drug delivery system for chemotherapeutic administration could significantly improve standard chemotherapy by maintaining the cytotoxic effects of the drugs while decreasing the inherent side effects of the treatment. The aim of our study is the optimization of a loading strategy that conjugates the use of extracellular vesicles (EVs) as drug delivery carriers, by preserving their integrity, with the loading efficiency and activity maintenance of chemotherapeutics.

Honey is a complex natural nutrient with well-established therapeutic properties recognized in traditional medicine. The purpose of the current work was to compare, in vitro, the bioactive compounds, antioxidants, and antimicrobial properties of 37 honey samples collected from the western region of Algeria and to identify the best sample for potential therapeutic purposes. Estimation of bioactive compounds was carried out by determining the total phenolic and flavonoid contents.

Background/objectives: This study explores the significance of beetroot and tomato juices, two prominent health-promoting foods known for their rich nutrient content and bioactive compounds. The growing consumer awareness of the link between diet and well-being emphasizes the need for food producers to align their products with health-conscious preferences. The aim of this research was to assess the composition, color, and sensory attributes-specifically color, taste, and odor-of various commercially available beetroot and tomato juices and to evaluate their acceptability among consumers.

To elucidate the involvement of glutathione in the mitigation of induced oxidative changes and the sequestration of perceived volatiles in cells, we exposed potato plants to French marigold essential oil. The formation of short-lived radicals, the determination of scavenging activity towards ascorbyl and DPPH radicals, and the assessment of the potato plants' overall intra/extracellular reduction status were performed using electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy (EPR). The results showed the presence of hydroxyl radicals in potatoes, with significantly reduced accumulation in exposed plants compared to the control group after 8 h.
