Six consecutive Neer type II fractures of the lateral end of the clavicle were treated by indirect open reduction and internal fixation using Vicryl tape. All fractures healed within 6-8 weeks after the operation. The pre-injury level of function was restored in all cases. This method of fixation is relatively simple and appears to be a valuable alternative to Bosworth-type screw fixation.

Sternal fractures resulting from blunt chest trauma often present unique surgical challenges. While conservative management is common, cases with significant displacement, delayed union, or painful dyspnea may require surgical intervention to improve structural stability and relieve symptoms. Here, we report the case of a 46-year-old man who sustained a displaced sternal fracture in a motor vehicle accident.

Background: Blood transfusion holds a significant place in the practice of surgery, including orthopaedic surgeries. The aim of this study was to evaluate the intraoperative use of blood and blood products among orthopaedic patients operated at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital from January 2021 to December 2021, focusing on the demographics of patients, number and type of surgeries needing a blood transfusion, and the number of blood transfusions.
Methodology: A retrospective observational study was carried out at the operating theatre of a referral tertiary hospital using a designed proforma to extract data from the registers of operated orthopaedic patients.

Purpose: Proximal humerus fracture dislocations are amongst the most severe proximal humerus injuries, presenting a challenging management problem. The aim of this study was to report on long-term outcomes of management of proximal humerus fracture dislocations.
Methods: Patients with a proximal humerus fracture dislocation managed at a Level 1 trauma centre from January 2010 to December 2018 were included.

Background: With the widespread use of lumbar pedicle screws for internal fixation, the morphology of the screws and the surrounding tissues should be evaluated. The metal artifact reduction (MAR) technique can reduce the artifacts caused by pedicle screws, improve the quality of computed tomography (CT) images after pedicle fixation, and provide more imaging information to the clinic.
Purpose: To explore whether the MAR+ method, a projection-based algorithm for correcting metal artifacts through multiple iterative operations, can reduce metal artifacts and have an impact on the structure of the surrounding metal.

Introduction: Intramedullary tibial nailing is a standard treatment for tibial shaft fractures. Postoperative knee pain significantly impacts functional recovery; however, studies on this issue are limited. This study evaluated the effect of the parapatellar approach for intramedullary nailing on postoperative knee pain.
