Aim: To investigate intra- and inter-observer variability in 2-dimensional (2D) follicular measurements among midwives sub-specialized in medically assisted reproduction (MAR), using a new 3D tool imitating real-life ovarian scanning.
Methods: Six 3D ultrasound volumes from stimulated ovaries were recorded and stored on the ultrasound device (Voluson i, GE Healthcare). Two junior midwives (with 6-36 months' ultrasound scanning experience) and 5 seniors (>36 months' experience) assessed the number of follicles per ovary and the average size of each follicle ≥10 mm off-line. There were 2 time points of measurement by each midwife with a mean interval of 12.7 weeks (±10.7). Intra- and inter-observer variability in the number of follicles, the mean follicle size and the diameter of the largest follicle were investigated using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and the Kruskal-Wallis test.
Results: There was no significant intra- or inter-observer variability among midwives in the evaluation of the number of follicles, their diameter or the diameter of the largest follicle, even when juniors and seniors were compared.
Conclusions: These data support the view that well-trained midwives can perform 2D follicle measurements to monitor MAR treatment in a reproducible way, and that prerecorded 3D volumes can also be used for quality control purposes.

: The aim of this study is to assess the inter- and intra-observer reproducibility of the identification of direct and indirect ultrasonographic features of adenomyosis as defined by the revised Morphological Uterus Sonographic Assessment (MUSA) consensus (2022). : A cohort of 74 women, aged 18 to 45, were recruited from the recurrent miscarriage and general gynaecology clinic at a university-based fertility centre. All the participants underwent 2D and 3D transvaginal Ultrasound scan (TVS) examination in the late follicular and early luteal phase.

Objectives: To assess the diagnostic accuracy, in a validation cohort, of a score based on three CT items, which has shown good performance for predicting ischaemia complicating acute adhesive small-bowel obstruction (SBO).
Methods: This retrospective single-centre study of diagnostic accuracy included consecutive patients admitted for acute adhesive SBO in 2015-2022, who were treated conservatively or underwent surgery within 24 h after CT. The gold standard for ischaemia was an intraoperative diagnosis for operated patients, while the absence of ischaemia was confirmed either by its absence during surgery or by clinical follow-up in patients who did not undergo surgery.

We aimed to evaluate the accuracy and reproducibility of right ventricular output (RVO) using different anatomical landmarks: the internal pulmonary valve diameter (PVD) between the valve hinge points (hinge-PVD) according to the traditional technique, and PVD between the valve leaflet tips (tip-PVD). This was a retrospective analysis of prospective collected data. All neonates with echocardiographic measurements of RVO and left ventricular output (LVO) without congenital heart disease, including patent ductus arteriosus and patent foramen ovale > 3 mm, were included.

Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PanNETs) are a heterogeneous group of neoplasms that include tumors with different histomorphologic characteristics that can be correlated to sub-categories with different prognoses. In addition to the WHO grading scheme based on tumor proliferative activity, a new parameter based on the scoring of infiltration patterns at the interface of tumor and non-neoplastic parenchyma (tumor-NNP interface) has recently been proposed for PanNET categorization. Despite the known correlations, these categorizations can still be problematic due to the need for human judgment, which may involve intra- and inter-observer variability.

The assessment of biological maturation is a central topic in pediatric exercise sciences. Skeletal age (SA) reflects changes in each bone of the hand and wrist from initial ossification to the adult state. This study examined intra-observer and inter-examiner agreement is Greulich-Pyle (GP) assessments of SA in 97 male tennis players 8.
