A cytophotometric technique to quantitate the content of apolipoprotein B (apo B) in cryostate sections of human aorta is described. The method is based on the comparison of different regions of the sections stained by indirect immunoperoxidase technique, using antibody to apo B. It has been found that the optical density of stained intimal layer was 8-22 times higher than that of the stained aortic media, which in its turn, differed from the control values. The intensity of specific staining of fibrous plaques was 58-87% of the staining intimal tissue of the apparently unaffected intima. About 25-42% of apo B content was extracted from the sections of the normal part of intima and fibrous plaque tissue during incubation of nonfixed sections in a physiologic saline.

Background: Cabotegravir + rilpivirine (CAB + RPV) administered via intramuscular gluteal injections is the first complete long-acting regimen for maintaining human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) virologic suppression. We present substudy results on short-term repeat intramuscular CAB + RPV long-acting thigh injections in participants with ≥3 years of experience with gluteal administration during the ATLAS-2M study.
Methods: Substudy phases included screening, thigh injection (day 1-week 16), and return to gluteal injection (week 16-week 24).

Background: Clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) are moving toward greater consideration of population-level differences, like health inequities, when creating management recommendations. CPGs have the potential to reduce or perpetuate health inequities. The intrinsic design factors of electronic interfaces that contain CPGs are known barriers to guideline use.

Background Odontogenic maxillary sinusitis arises mainly from dental origins, emphasizing the connection between dental health and sinus issues. Understanding these relationships is crucial for implant planning, sinus augmentation procedures, and managing post-extraction complications. This knowledge can help clinicians make informed decisions about treatment timing and approach.
