Ataxia and tremor are rare manifestations of hepatocerebral degeneration due to portovenous shunts. Ammonia is a neurotoxin that plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of hepatic encephalopathy. A 58-year old male patient was assessed with the complaints of gait disturbance, hand tremor, and impairment of speech. His neurological examination revealed dysarthric speech and ataxic gait. Bilateral kinetic tremor was noted, and deep tendon reflexes of the patient were hyperactive. Serum ammonia level was found to be 156.9 microg/dL. Cranial magnetic resonance (MR) imaging revealed increased signal intensity in bilateral globus pallidus on T1-weighted axial sections, and bilateral prominent hyperintense lesions in the middle cerebellar peduncles on T2-weighted axial sections. On his abdominal MR portography, multiple portohepatic venous collaterals were noted in the right and left lobes of liver parenchyma in 2D FIESTA axial MR sections. To our knowledge, we reported the first case of acquired hepatocerebral degeneration presenting with cerebral symptoms without any hepatic findings in which clinical improvement was noted, and hyperammonemia disappeared following medical treatment.

Background: The study aimed to investigate the effect of customized lateral nasal wall osteotomy (LNO) on the lateral nasal wall (LNW) and pterygomaxillary junction (PMJ) separation during Le Fort I. We hypothesized that customized LNO on the LNW affect the PMJ separation type.
Material And Methods: This prospective, controlled, randomized study included forty-three patients were randomly assigned to either the conventional or customized (study) osteotomy groups.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) associated with major vasculature tumor extension is considered an advanced stage of disease to which palliative radiotherapy or chemotherapy is proposed. Surgical resection associated with chemotherapy or chemoembolization could be an opportunity to improve overall survival and recurrence-free survival in selected cases in a high-volume hepatobiliary center. Moreover, it has been 25 years since Couinaud described the entity of a posterior liver located behind an axial plane crossing the portal bifurcation.

Objectives: The Scrotal and Penile Imaging Working Group (SPIWG) of the European Society of Urogenital Radiology (ESUR) aimed to formulate recommendations on the imaging modalities and minimal technical requirements for abdominopelvic imaging in the follow-up of adult patients treated for testicular germ-cell tumors (TGCT).
Methods: The SPIWG members performed an extensive literature search, reviewed the current clinical practice, and reached a consensus based on the opinions of experts in the field.
Results: Recurrence in patients treated for TGCT mainly occurs in retroperitoneal lymph nodes (LNs).

: Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic progressive inflammatory process of the axial skeleton and sacroiliac joints (SIJ). Symptoms typically appear between the ages of 20 and 40, although there are also cases of juvenile-onset AS. This suggests that most patients with AS are of reproductive age at the time of diagnosis.

With the rapid development of infrastructure construction on oceanic reefs, calcareous sand, as the primary medium of these reefs, exhibits unique physical and mechanical properties such as high void ratio, low strength, and susceptibility to particle breakage. These characteristics reduce the bearing capacity and stability of pile foundations in calcareous sand foundations. This study investigates the bearing characteristics of high-strength preloaded expansion piles in calcareous sand foundations, taking into account the influence of HSCA high-performance expansion agent dosage through a series of indoor model tests and in-situ tests.
