Background: The approval of anti-amyloid monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) provides a novel approach to the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Infusions in alternative sites of care can benefit the patient financially and logistically, but coverage is largely payor dependent. The purpose of this study is to describe observations from this national complex specialty pharmacy around the safety of anti-amyloid mAb infusions in alternative sites of care, including the home.

Background: In the province of Quebec, Canada, primary care management of Alzheimer's disease is provided by the Family Medicine Group with the support of the Ministerial Initiative on Alzheimer's Disease and the collaboration of specialized memory clinics. The COVID years have severely strained health resources in all areas, including cognitive intervention resources. We describe the reorganization of regional support in the Eastern Townships.

Case Report: We report the consequences of inappropriate prescriptions in a 99-year-old woman. She had a clinical history of vascular dementia, diabetes, hypothyroidism, heart failure, osteoarthritis, chronic renal failure, and hypoacusia, and was admitted to our attention for asthenia and loss of appetite.

Background: One in four persons living with dementia are admitted to hospital, presenting challenges to them, their carers and staff. Despite global evidence demonstrating the clinical and cost-effectiveness of person-centered care (PCC), it is not yet business as usual across healthcare settings. We used multi-level stakeholder input to implement Kitwood's PCC model into a sub-acute setting.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic in Ethiopia posed additional challenges to an already strained mental health service. Eka Kotebe Hospital, the second-largest mental health facility with a capacity of 175 beds, was transformed into a dedicated COVID-19 treatment center, leaving mental health service users, especially vulnerable elderly patients with cognitive impairments, without adequate support. I had the challenge to implement alternatives to provide mental health services coverage to underserved elderly population.
