Objectives: Myocardial pathology is rarely associated with myasthenia gravis (MG). We describe a case of newly diagnosed MG with decompensated heart failure [stress-induced cardiomyopathy (SICM)] that occurred during the crisis phase.
Methods: Case report and review of literature.
Results: A 42-year-old woman underwent chemotherapy followed by a transsternal resection of a malignant epithelioid thymoma invading the pericardium. A month after surgical resection, she developed progressive oropharyngeal symptoms with respiratory distress requiring tracheal intubation. Cardiac evaluation on the day of admission showed a normal ejection fraction, which rapidly decreased to 15% on the second hospital day and recovered to 45% after 1 week. Review of the literature revealed 4 myasthenic patients who developed SICM in the crisis phase; all improved with treatment.
Conclusions: SICM may occur in MG crisis, especially in the presence of malignant thymoma. All previous cases including our patient had improved myocardial function and clinical outcomes.

The seeds of , a high-quality vegetable protein source, encounter application limitations due to their high molecular weight and anti-nutritional factors. This study focused on optimizing the fermentation process by investigating key parameters such as inoculation amount, inoculation ratio, material-to-liquid ratio, fermentation temperature, and fermentation time. Both single-factor experiments and response surface methodology were used to determine the optimal conditions.

Objective: Chronic musculoskeletal pain (CMSP) is frequent in chronic diseases, decreasing the quality of life of these patients. In a survey conducted in Belgium in 2019, chronic pain was named by patients as the main factor of complexity in their lives. The objective of our research was to provide elements to understand why and how CMSP contributes to the complexity of these people's lives.

The effects of triathlon exercise on cardiac function are well documented. While Olympic triathlon (swim-bike-run) remains the standard format, increasing concerns about water quality in natural waterways present ongoing challenges for open-water swimming events, highlighting the potential need to consider alternative formats such as duathlon (run-bike-run) in some circumstances. An additional run may increase the overall metabolic and cardiovascular demand compared with the swim in triathlon, leading to reduced future performance.
