Unlabelled: To perform a bibliographic review on female urethra stenosis, following the criteria for evidence based medicine.

Methods: We performed a PubMed Search with the following keywords; "female urethral stricture ","women urethral stricture","female urethral reconstruction "and " female urethral stricture treatment ",without time limits, both in English and Spanish languages.

Results: Female urethra stenosis is a rare pathology, in which the working diagnosis is essential, as much as detailed physical examination, urodynamic study and radiological tests. We found in the literature a total of 73 cases treated with dilation with or without maintenance self catheterization, 120 cases treated with meatotomy, 65 cases treated by flap urethroplasty (46 with vaginal flap, 17 with vestibular flap and 12 with labia minora graft and 28 with oral mucosa grafts). There are not comparative studies between the various techniques, making it difficult to set up a therapeutic algorithm.

Conclusions: The surgical treatment with flaps/grafts has the highest success rate; whereas less invasive procedures such as urethrotomy/meatotomy/dilations/self-catheterization should be reserved for short female urethra stenosis or women with high comorbidity.

An Exploration of the Cellular Microenvironment of the Female Pig Urethra: Translational Insights for Urological Research.

Urinary incontinence is a widespread issue, particularly among women, with effective treatments remaining elusive. The pig, and especially the female pig, stands as a promising animal model for the study of this condition, due to its anatomical similarities to humans. The aim of this study was to explore the largely uncharted muscular structure of the female pig urethra, linking urethral muscle dysfunction to incontinence.

Ureteral stent must be removed within a certain period, usually performed under the cystoscope. However, cystoscopic operations procedures carry risks such as urethral injury, hemorrhage, and infection. This study aimed to implement a cystoscope-free method for ureteral stent removal during the COVID-19 pandemic to mitigate the complications associated with cystoscopy, reduce the risk of cross-infection, and conserve medical resources and time.

Aim: This study aimed to examine the correlations between specific urethral function parameters observed in urodynamic testing and selected urethral characteristics evaluated by pelvic floor ultrasonography. Additionally, the presence of urethral funneling during straining was evaluated in female patients referred for surgical treatment of stress urinary incontinence.

Material And Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 192 female patients referred for surgical treatment of stress urinary incontinence with the use of retropubic tension-free vaginal tape.

Introduction And Hypothesis: The urethra is surrounded by layers of smooth muscle, including inner longitudinal and outer circler muscles, as well as the skeletal muscle of the external urethral sphincter. However, the extent of these muscles and their relationship with the levator ani (LA) remain unclear. This study aimed to clarify the composition of muscle layers around the female urethra and their three-dimensional arrangements.
