The title compound, C18H23N2O2 (+)·Cl(-), crystallizes with two independent cations and anions per cell. Each cation has twofold rotational disorder about the linking vinyl groups but with unequal occupancies [0.963 (5):0.037 (5) and 0.860 (8):0.140 (8)]. The two independent cations are close to being related by an inversion centre but the data does not support the expected centrosymmetric space-group assignment. The conclusion is that the differing rotational disorder has lead to an overall non-centrosymmetric lattice. In the crystal, the mol-ecules pack in layers parallel to (133) and (-13-3), chain-linked with motif C (1) 2(7) by the di-hydroxy-propyl O-H⋯Cl⋯H-O hydrogen bonds. Other lattice binding is provided by O-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯N inter-actions.

The fluorescence quantum yield of berberine in aqueous solution is significantly smaller than those of organic solution. The time profile of fluorescence intensity of berberine was analyzed by a bi-exponential function, showing that two kinds of states of berberine exist in the solutions. The observed fluorescence lifetime of shorter lifetime species of berberine in water (0.

Objectives: To investigate the expression levels of ghrelin and liver-expressed antimicrobial peptide-2 (LEAP-2) in children with idiopathic short stature (ISS) to provide reference for further understanding the etiology of short stature.

Methods: A prospective study was conducted from December 2021 to October 2023, involving 46 children diagnosed with ISS (ISS group) and 46 healthy children with normal height (control group) at the First Affiliated Hospital of Shihezi University. General data and serum levels of ghrelin and LEAP-2 were compared between the two groups.

It is well established that the long-range van der Waals or thermal Casimir interaction between two semi-infinite dielectrics separated by a distance H is screened by an intervening electrolyte. Here we show how this interaction is modified when an electric field of strength E is applied parallel to the dielectric boundaries, leading to a nonequilibrium steady state with a current. The presence of the field induces a long-range thermal repulsive interaction, scaling just like the thermal Casimir interaction between dielectrics without the intervening electrolyte, i.

Organic photovoltaic materials typically exhibit low charge separation and transfer efficiency and severe exciton/carrier recombination due to high exciton binding energy and short exciton diffusion lengths, limiting the enhancement of photocatalytic hydrogen evolution performance. Here, we introduce a surface charge reversal strategy to regulate charge characters of organic photovoltaic catalyst (OPC). Compared to OPC nanoparticles (NPs) stabilized by anionic surfactant ((-) NPs), NPs stabilized by cationic surfactant ((+) NPs) exhibit a raised Fermi level, larger surface band bending and Schottky barrier, thereby enhancing charge separation and transfer efficiency while suppressing charge carrier recombination.
