The primary aesthetic breast augmentation has been the most performed cosmetic surgery procedure in the world for over 40 years. The current literature focuses on the new concept of "process of breast augmentation" and the importance of non-surgical part (patient selection, preoperative planning and personalized management of postoperative care) in potentiating the cosmetic results and reducing the rate of complications and reoperations. This review of literature discusses, through an analysis of scientific evidence levels, every step of the whole process of breast augmentation in order to determine the current best practices tailored to each patient to optimize satisfactory and durable cosmetic outcomes.

Breast cancer is a leading cause of mortality among women in Taiwan and globally. Non-invasive imaging methods, such as mammography and ultrasound, are critical for early detection, yet standalone modalities have limitations in regard to their diagnostic accuracy. This study aims to enhance breast cancer detection through a cross-modality fusion approach combining mammography and ultrasound imaging, using advanced convolutional neural network (CNN) architectures.

Deep inferior epigastric artery perforator flap reconstruction is a common technique for breast reconstruction surgery in cancer patients. Preoperative planning typically depends on radiological reports and 2D images to help surgeons locate abdominal perforator vessels before surgery. Here, BREAST+, an augmented reality interface for the HoloLens 2, designed to facilitate accurate marking of perforator locations on the patients' skin and to seamlessly access relevant clinical data in the operating room is proposed.

Inducing immunogenic cell death (ICD) is a promising approach to elicit enduring antitumor immune responses. Hence, extensive efforts are being made to develop ICD inducers. Herein, a cascaded dual-atom nanozyme with Fe and Cu sites (FeCu-DA) as an efficient ICD inducer is presented.

Breast augmentations, commonly performed for aesthetic or medical reasons, often use silicone (polydimethylsiloxane [PDMS]) implants. Some patients develop complications like capsular contracture, where scar tissue forms around the implant. Previously, we used stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) microscopy to detect and quantify silicone in stained capsule tissue, finding a correlation between silicone amount and contracture severity.

Background: Breast augmentation and breast reconstruction with implants are among the most performed surgery worldwide.
Objective: In the search for an ideal implant in terms of safety, shape and consistency, the authors report their experience with a subtype of breast implant, the Diagon\Gel 4Two implants, in both cosmetic and reconstructive cases by analyzing their experience on 116 consecutive patients.
Methods: One hundred and sixteen consecutive patients undergoing both aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery using Diagon\Gel 4Two Implants between January 2021 and December 2022 were retrospectively reviewed.
