In this paper, we present interesting results on the quantification of photodarkening (PD), photobleaching (PB) and transient PD (TPD) in a-Ge(x)As(35-x)Se65 thin films as a function of network rigidity. Composition dependent light-induced responses of these samples indicate that there exist two parallel competing mechanisms of instantaneous PD arising from the As part of the network, and PB arising from the Ge part of the network. Raman spectra of the as-prepared and illuminated samples provide first direct evidence of the light-induced structural changes: an increase in AsSe3/2 pyramidal and GeSe4/2 corner-sharing tetrahedra units together with new Ge-O bond formation and decrease in energetically unstable edge sharing GeSe4/2 tetrahedra. Importantly, for a fixed Se concentration, Ge:As ratio plays the critical role in controlling the net light-induced response rather than the much believed rigidity of the glassy network.

Background/aim: Invasive stratified mucin-producing carcinoma (ISMC) is a rare but aggressive variant of endocervical adenocarcinoma (EAC). The aim of this study was to investigate the differences in clinicopathological features, patient outcomes, and programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression among ISMC, usual-type EAC (UEA), and gastric-type EAC (GEA).
Patients And Methods: PD-L1 22C3 immunostaining was performed using 20 ISMCs, 20 UEAs, and 20 GEAs.

Human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2), programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), and microsatellite (MS) status are well-established biomarkers in gastroesophageal adenocarcinomas (GEAs). However, it is unclear how the combination of these biomarkers is associated with clinicopathological factors and prognosis. This retrospective study included baseline metastatic GEA patients who were tested for all three biomarkers (HER2, PD-L1, and MS status) at the MD Anderson Cancer Center between 2012 and 2022.

Wearable thermoelectric applications require materials with both high energy conversion efficiency and excellent flexibility/deformability. Inorganic thermoelectric materials have shown high conversion efficiency, but they are usually brittle and have poor mechanical flexibility, which makes their integration into flexible devices a challenging task. GeAs is a group IV-V binary compound with a van der Waals layered structure, and its thermoelectric response has been reported.

Van der Waals heterojunction (vdWs) of 2D materials with integrated or extended superior characteristics, opening up new opportunities in functional electronic and optoelectric device applications. Exploring methods to achieve multifunctional vdWs heterojunction devices is one of the most promising prospects in this area. Herein, a diverse function of forward rectifying diode, Zener tunneling diode, and backward rectifying diodes are realized in GeAs/ReS heterojunction by modulating the doping level of GeAs.
