Uterine torsion represents a rare condition that may occur during pregnancy or in non-gravid women. This condition is difficult to diagnose, since there are no specific signs besides abdominal pain. Thus, most of the cases are not diagnosed correctly before a surgical procedure and may result in complications and poor outcomes.

Background: The use of patient-specific instruments (PSIs) for osteotomies is becoming more popular in orthopaedic surgery for correcting mechanical axis and posttraumatic deformities. However, the PSI reduction guides have great potential for intraoperative deformation, which adversely affects the accuracy of the procedure.
Purpose: To conduct a finite element analysis (FEA) to analyze different design parameters to improve the intraoperative stability of the reduction guides.

Introduction And Importance: Wandering spleen, also known as ectopic spleen, is an uncommon disorder in which the spleen's anatomical location differs from its fixed position in the abdomen's left upper quadrant. The etiology is either congenital or acquired, possibly leading to torsion and splenic infarction. It affects children and young adults, especially childbearing-age women.

To modulate nonlinear optical (NLO) effects of crystalline material holds great application potential in the photoelectronic and optical fields. Organic configurationally-locked polyene represents an exciting NLO family with large second harmonic generation (SHG) effects, whereas it is a huge blank to switch and modulate their NLO property through external stimuli. For the first time, here present unusual thermo-enhanced SHG activities are presented in a polyene-based NLO compound, 2-{3-[2-(4-pyrrolidinphenyl)vinyl]-5,5-dimethylcyclohex-2-enylidene}malononitrile (1), giving a record-high magnitude of SHG enhancement up to ≈170% during its isomorphic phase transition.

Metal-organic framework (MOF) heterostructures with hybrid architectures and abundant functional sites possess great potential applications in advanced information security, yet still suffer from the harsh stimuli mechanisms with restrained emission control. Herein, the differentiated design strategy on intra-ligand charge transfer is first reported to realize smart-responsive multicolor MOF heterostructures as robust anticounterfeiting labels. Designed similar MOF blocks with the differentiated intra-ligand charge transfer are integrated via time-dependent epitaxial growth to form multicolor MOF heterostructures.
