Objective: To analyze the accuracy of three measurements of lower extremity length during total hip arthroplasty(THA),and explore the causes that influence the accuracy.

Methods: From January 2010 to January 2013,145 patients underwent THA were retrospectively analyzed. There were 66 males and 79 females,ranging in age from 48 to 89 years with an average of 66.7 years. Their lower extremities were measured by three methods during operation,among them,31 cases with reference method of contralaterallegs (A method) ,63 cases with measurement method of Kirschner wire location (B method), and other 51 cases with measurement method of anatomical landmark (C method). The accuracy of the three measurements and the incidence rate of length inequality of lower extremity were analyzed.

Results: All patients were followed up,there was no significant differences in the operation time and the intraoperative blood loss among three groups. The difference of lower extremity length with A,B,C method were respectively (8.7+/-5.7),(3.1+/-2.6), (5.6+/-5.3) mm after operation; there were significant difference between any two groups. The accuracy of three methods from high to low were respectively B,C,A method. The incidence rate of length inequality of lower extremity with A, B, C method were respectively 32.3%, 1.6%, 11.8%, the incidence rate with A method was higher than that other two methods ; and there was no significant difference between B method and C method.

Conclusion: The measurement method of Kirschner wire location has the best accuracy in the three methods and the measurement method of anatomical landmark is the second. The measurement method of Kirschner wire location is recommended in all THA except for the patients with femoral neck fracture. And the measurement method of anatomical landmark can be used in the patients with femoral neck fracture.

Objective: The Adult Scale/National Stressful Events Survey Short Scale (NSESSS) is an emerging brief screening measure for the severity of Acute Stress Symptoms based on the of acute stress disorder (ASD). Scant information is known about the NSESSS's psychometric properties among different cultures or populations exposed to an ongoing trauma and displacement. Therefore, the present study aimed to (a) assess for the first time the psychometric properties and construct validity of the Hebrew version of NSESSS in an internally displaced population following the massacre in Israel on October 7, 2023; and (b) assess the possible risk and protective predictors of ASD according to sociodemographic characteristics, types of trauma exposure, absence of basic needs, and social support.

Background: The known and established benefits of exercise in patients with heart failure (HF) are often hampered by low exercise adherence. Mobile health (mHealth) technology provides opportunities to overcome barriers to exercise adherence in this population.

Objective: This systematic review builds on prior research to (1) describe study characteristics of mHealth interventions for exercise adherence in HF including details of sample demographics, sample sizes, exercise programs, and theoretical frameworks; (2) summarize types of mHealth technology used to improve exercise adherence in patients with HF; (3) highlight how the term "adherence" was defined and how it was measured across mHealth studies and adherence achieved; and (4) highlight the effect of age, sex, race, New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional classification, and HF etiology (systolic vs diastolic) on exercise adherence.

Objective: Although research supports an association between increased alternative reinforcement and decreased substance use, the impact of substance use on changes in reinforcement during posttreatment recovery remains untested. This study tested the effect of abstinence duration and substance use frequency on the trajectories of four reinforcement mechanisms, behavioral activation, reward probability, reward barriers, and valued living, from pre- to 12-month posttreatment.

Method: Adults in intensive outpatient substance use disorder treatment ( = 206) completed self-report measures of the four reinforcement constructs and substance use over six timepoints from pre- to 12-month posttreatment.
