Introduction: The objective was to update the guidelines of the French Urological Association Cancer Committee for non invasive (NMIBC) and invasive bladder cancer (MIBC).
Methods: A Medline search was performed between 2010 and 2013, as regards diagnosis, options of treatment and follow-up of bladder cancer, to evaluate different references with levels of evidence.
Results: Diagnosis of NMIBC (Ta, T1, CIS) depends on cystoscopy and complete deep resection of the tumour. The use of fluorescence and a second-look indication are essential to improve initial diagnosis. Risks of both recurrence and progression can be estimated using the EORTC score. A stratification of patients into low, intermediate and high groups is pivotal for recommending adjuvant treatment: instillation of chemotherapy (immediate post-operative, standard schedule) or intravesical BCG (standard schedule and maintenance). Cystectomy is recommended in BCG-refractory patients. Extension evaluation of MIBC is based on pelvic-abdominal and thoracic CT-scan, MRI and FDGPET remain optional. Cystectomy associated with extensive lymph nodes resection is considered the gold standard for non metastatic MIBC. An orthotopic bladder substitution should be proposed to both male and female patients lacking any contraindications and in cases of negative frozen urethral samples, otherwise trans-ileal ureterostomy is recommended as urinary diversion. The interest of neoadjuvant chemotherapy is well known for advanced MIBC as T3-T4 and/or N1-3. As regards metastatic MIBC, first-line chemotherapy using platin is recommended (GC or MVAC), when status (PS<1) and renal function (creatinine clearance > 60 ml/min) permits (only in 50% of cases). In second line treatment, only chemotherapy using vinfluvine has been validated to date. Conclusion.-These new guidelines will hopefully contribute not only to improve patient management, but also diagnosis and treatment for NMIBC and MIBC.

Background: Despite guideline recommendations, few institutions have implemented clinical pathways that incorporate frailty into routine decision-making for patients undergoing radical cystectomy (RC). This paper presents an integrated clinical pathway designed to address the needs of frail patients undergoing RC. The purpose of the study is to determine whether a multifaceted prevention programme that tailors interventions to the syndromic components of frailty can improve postoperative morbidity and recovery time for patients.

Objectives: Cx bladder monitor (CxM) is a urine test with a proven high sensitivity and negative predictive value in bladder cancer surveillance. The aim of this retrospective study was to report on the outcomes of our newly implemented bladder cancer surveillance program for patients eligible for yearly cystoscopy, as per the European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines. In this program, eligible patients alternate between yearly surveillance cystoscopy and CxM, instead of the standard yearly surveillance cystoscopy.

Methods: This cross-sectional Internet-based study was conducted between 2 and 9 November 2023, with quota sampling with equal probability for each sex and age group (age 65-74 years and ≥75 years). OAB was defined as an urgency score of ≥2 points and a total score of ≥3 points based on the Overactive Bladder Symptom Score.
Objectives: To assess the impact of a positive history of venous thromboembolism (VTE) on perioperative outcomes, including length of in-hospital stay, readmission rates, 90-day postoperative complications, and healthcare costs in bladder cancer (BCa) patients undergoing transurethral resection of bladder tumour (TURBT) in the United States.
Patients And Methods: Patients aged ≥18 years with a BCa diagnosis undergoing TURBT were identified in the Merative® Marketscan® Research de-identified databases between 2007 and 2021. Multivariable logistic regression adjusted by relevant perioperative confounders was used to investigate the association between diagnosis of VTE before TURBT and 90-day complication rates, new postoperative VTE events, re-hospitalization, and total hospital expenditures (2021 US dollars).
Objective: To evaluate the correlation between ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter expression and therapeutic efficacy of enfortumab vedotin (EV), an antibody-drug conjugate targeting Nectin-4, in urothelial cancer, as only a few studies have been conducted on this topic.
Patients And Methods: This retrospective study included 20 patients with metastatic urothelial carcinoma (mUC), including bladder and upper urinary tract cancers, who were treated with EV at Dokkyo Medical University Hospital between 2022 and 2024. Immunohistochemical staining was performed on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue samples.
