In this research paper a comparative study has been carried out for the removal of methyl violet dye using unfunctionalized and functionalized cellulose. The functionalization was achieved through esterification of cellulose with furan-2,5-dione. The functionalization of the cellulose was evidenced using BET, FT-IR, SEM and TGA. The adsorption isotherm data was fitted using different isotherm models like Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, Flory-Huggins and Dubinin-Kaganer-Radushkevich models and found to follow Langmuir and Temkin isotherm models with high value of correlation coefficients. Functionalized cellulose (106.38 mg g(-1)) showed higher dye removal capability than unfunctionalized cellulose (43.668 mg g(-1)). The kinetics of adsorption was investigated using pseudo first order, second order, Elovich, liquid film diffusion and intra-particle diffusion models. The mechanism of adsorption was found to follow pseudo second order rate equation. Thermodynamic studies showed that the adsorption process was endothermic and spontaneous.

Background/objectives: Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease developing and progressing in the presence of risk factors including hyperlipidemia, hypercholesterolemia, and chronic inflammation, among others. Atherosclerosis commonly precipitates as ischemic events, transient ischemic attacks, and myocardial infarction. Saturated fatty acids are risk factors; however, their association with epigenetics in the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis is not clearly understood.

Neuroblastoma is a common malignant tumor in childhood that seriously endangers the health and lives of children, making it essential to find effective prognostic markers to accurately predict their clinical outcomes. The development of high-throughput technology in the biomedical field has made it possible to obtain multi-omics data, whose integration can compensate for missing or unreliable information in a single data source. In this study, we integrated clinical data and two omics data, i.

When an electric field is applied to or removed from colloidal particle aqueous dispersions, a reversible increase in sedimentation velocity of the colloidal particles, referred to as the Electrically Induced Rapid Separation (ERS) effect, is observed. While electrophoresis and other interfacial electrokinetic phenomena under applied electric fields are well-studied, the phenomena of particle aggregation and re-dispersion caused by the application and removal of the field remain largely unexplored despite their significance. Experiments using mixed aqueous dispersions of poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) particles of different sizes revealed that applying an electric field induced the formation of co-flocs involving both large and small particles, significantly enhancing the sedimentation velocity.

Background: 6-Nitrodopamine (6-ND) released from rat vas deferens acts an endogenous modulator of vas deferens contractility.
Objectives: To investigate whether rat isolated seminal vesicles (RISV) releases 6-ND, the mechanisms involved in the release, and the modulatory role of 6-ND on tissue contractility.
Methods: Rat seminal vesicles were removed and placed in Krebs-Henseleit's solution at 37°C for 30 min, and an aliquot was used to analyze the concentrations of 6-ND, dopamine, noradrenaline, and adrenaline by liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
