Oligo(ethylene glycol)-linked light fluorous tags have been found to be optimal for conjugating to glycans for both high-yield enzymatic glycosylation reactions using one-pot multienzyme (OPME) systems and quick product purification using fluorous solid-phase extraction (FSPE) cartridges. The combination of OPME glycosylation systems and the FSPE cartridge purification scheme provides a highly effective strategy for facile synthesis and purification of glycans.

β1-3-linked -acetylglucosaminide is a prevalent carbohydrate motif found in oligosaccharides, polysaccharides, glycoproteins, and glycolipids. It is a crucial component of human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). β1-3--acetylglucosaminyltransferase (NmLgtA) catalyzes the formation of a glycosidic bond and has the potential for use in synthesizing HMOs.

Cascade catalysis of glutamate oxidase (GLOX) and catalase (CAT) to perform one-pot synthetic route for α-ketoglutarate (α-KG) production offers several advantages including simplicity of operation and the generation of few reaction by-products. Nevertheless, the instability of free GLOX and CAT, the high production cost and the difficulty of recycling severely limits its industrial utilisation. Here, catalase-inorganic hybrid nanoflowers were first prepared, and cross-linked with GLOX precipitates by a macromolecular cross-linking agent dextran polyaldehyde to form a novel dual enzyme precipitation-cross-linking hybrid nanoflower (GLOX@CAT-HNFs).

Human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) play important roles in the development of infants, which are the third most abundant component in human milk. -Acetyllactosamine (LacNAc) is an important intermediate for the biosynthesis of other HMOs and antigens. Since currently appropriate synthetic methods for large-scale production of LacNAc are not available, it is urgently needed to develop an efficient and cost-effective synthetic pathway for LacNAc preparation.

Biocatalytic transformation in nature is inherently dynamic, spontaneous, and adaptive, enabling complex chemical synthesis and metabolism. These processes often involve supramolecular recognition among cells, enzymes, and biomacromolecules, far surpassing the capabilities of isolated cells and enzymes used in industrial synthesis. Inspired by nature, here we design a supramolecular approach to equip living cells with these capacities, enabling recyclable, efficient cascade reactions.

State Key Laboratory of Component-based Chinese Medicine, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin 301617, China; Haihe Laboratory of Modern Chinese Medicine, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin 301617, China. Electronic address:

Icaritin (ICT), a compound with diverse biological activities derived from Epimedium folium, is typically present in low concentrations in EFs. However, the abundant glycosyl-modified ICT compounds facilitate its transformation into ICT. Current biocatalytic production faces challenges, including low conversion rates and limited enzyme activity.
