Background: Overhead sports place the greatest strain on the elbow of any of the upper extremity joints. Unfortunately, athlete-specific functional outcome tools do not exist for the elbow.
Hypotheses: THE ELBOW DEMAND RATING SCALE (EDS) WILL DEMONSTRATE STRONG RELIABILITY AND VALIDITY PROPERTIES: (1) test-retest reliability with a 2-week EDS administration, (2) internal reliability of the subscales, and (3) construct validity through lower scores for patients with elbow injuries.
Study Design: Prospective case-control study.
Methods: Patients with (n = 19) and without elbow injuries (n = 19) completed the EDS during their routine clinical appointment and 2 weeks later. Clinicians completed the functional portion of the EDS.
Results: The EDS demonstrated strong test-retest reliability and construct validity. Internal reliability was moderate (α = 0.50). Exploratory analyses further supported construct validity using demographic survey questions regarding elbow pain and symptoms.
Conclusion: Overall, the EDS demonstrated moderate to strong psychometric properties in a patient population with elbow injuries, and its use is supported for young athletes.
Clinical Relevance: The EDS provides clinicians working with adolescent and young adult athletes a scale to direct care and determine intervention success or failure.

Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is the most common symptomatic and heterogeneous type of inborn errors of immunity (IEI). However, the pathogenesis process of this disease is often unknown. Epigenetic modifications may be involved in unresolved patients.

This study aimed to investigate the factors influencing the complication of allergic rhinitis in children with bronchial asthma and to construct a nomogram model to predict the occurrence of allergic rhinitis. A total of 190 children with bronchial asthma admitted to our hospital from August 2020 to August 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. The children were randomly divided into the training cohort (133 cases) and validation cohort (57 cases) in a ratio of 7:3.

Objective: The Adult Scale/National Stressful Events Survey Short Scale (NSESSS) is an emerging brief screening measure for the severity of Acute Stress Symptoms based on the of acute stress disorder (ASD). Scant information is known about the NSESSS's psychometric properties among different cultures or populations exposed to an ongoing trauma and displacement. Therefore, the present study aimed to (a) assess for the first time the psychometric properties and construct validity of the Hebrew version of NSESSS in an internally displaced population following the massacre in Israel on October 7, 2023; and (b) assess the possible risk and protective predictors of ASD according to sociodemographic characteristics, types of trauma exposure, absence of basic needs, and social support.

The Hypersensitive Narcissism Scale (HSNS) is a an economical, widely used self-report measure of vulnerable narcissism. Developed and mostly used as a unidimensional scale, previous structural examinations suggest two correlated dimensions, one emphasizing hypersensitive/neurotic aspects and the other highlighting egocentric/antagonistic aspects of vulnerable narcissism. The few extant factor analyses of the HSNS, however, differ profoundly in their methodological approach, the resulting item-to-factor assignment, and lack a thorough validation of the two putative subscales.

Background: The treatment of early gastric cancer (EGC) is contingent upon the status of lymph node metastasis (LNM). Accurate preoperative prediction of LNM is critical for reducing unnecessary surgeries. This study seeks to evaluate the risk factors for LNM in submucosal EGC and develop a predictive model to optimize therapeutic decision-making.
