Aim: This paper describes the digital implementation of a mathematical transform namely 2D Fast Discrete Curvelet Transform (FDCT) via UnequiSpaced Fast Fourier Transform (USFFT) in combination with the novel segmentation method for effective detection of breast cancer.

Methods: USFFT performs exact reconstructions with high image clarity. Radon, ridgelet and Cartesian filters are included in this method. Mean Square Error (MSE) and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) were calculated for the image and the resulting value showed that the proposed method performs well on mammogram image in reducing noise with good extraction of edges. This work includes a novel segmentation method, which combines Modified Local Range Modification (MLRM) and Laplacian of Gaussian (LoG) edge detection method to segment the textured features in the mammogram image.

Results: The result was analyzed using a Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) plot and the detection accuracy found was 99% which is good compared to existing methods.

The therapeutic time window for endovascular therapy in acute stroke patients with large-vessel occlusion was extended to 24 hours from onset. Although a retrospective study showed the efficacy of endovascular therapy beyond 24 hours from the last known well, it remains unclear whether endovascular therapy is effective. Extending the time window of Endovascular therapy in the Triage of Late Presenting Strokes beyond 24 h (SKIP-EXTEND trial) aimed to clarify the efficacy of endovascular therapy compared to the best medical management.

Intratumoral drug delivery systems hold immense promise in overcoming the limitations of conventional IV chemotherapy, particularly in enhancing therapeutic efficacy and minimizing systemic side effects. In this study, we introduce a novel redox-responsive intratumoral nanogel system that combines the biocompatibility of natural polysaccharides with the tailored properties of synthetic polymers. The nanogel features a unique cross-linked architecture incorporating redox-sensitive segments, designed to leverage the elevated glutathione levels in the tumor microenvironment for controlled drug release.

Purpose: To investigate image quality and agreement of derived cardiac function parameters in a novel joint image reconstruction and segmentation approach based on disentangled representation learning, enabling real-time cardiac cine imaging during free-breathing.

Methods: A multi-tasking neural network architecture, incorporating disentangled representation learning, was trained using simulated examinations based on data from a public repository along with MR scans specifically acquired for model development. An exploratory feasibility study evaluated the method on undersampled real-time acquisitions using an in-house developed spiral bSSFP pulse sequence in eight healthy participants and five patients with intermittent atrial fibrillation.

Parent Artery Occlusion (PAO) is a valid treatment choice in giant internal carotid artery (ICA) aneurysms of the cavernous segment when the preoperative balloon test occlusion (BTO) demonstrates an adequate cross circulation from the contralateral side. A high flow arterial bypass is, however, mandatory if the result suggests otherwise or is indeterminate. We present here a case of a 72-year lady where the BTO results were inconclusive.

We aimed to build a robust classifier for the MGMT methylation status of glioblastoma in multiparametric MRI. We focused on multi-habitat deep image descriptors as our basic focus. A subset of the BRATS 2021 MGMT methylation dataset containing both MGMT class labels and segmentation masks was used.
