Although the respiratory function test has a long history, the standardization of technical procedures and evaluation methods is still underway. Technologists have to be familiar not only with such standardized methods but also with quality control. Recently, a respiratory resistance test using the multi-frequency forced oscillation technique and exhaled nitric oxide measurement have been developed. As simple and non-invasive tests, these are useful for diagnosis and follow-up of patients with bronchial asthma or chronic obstructive lung diseases.

Objectives: Medicaid is the largest payer of mental health (MH) services in the US, and more than 80% of its enrollees are covered by Medicaid managed care (MMC). States are required to establish quantitative network adequacy standards (NAS) to regulate MMC plans' MH care access. We examined the association between quantitative NAS and MH care access among Medicaid-enrolled adults and among those with MH conditions.

Circuit Modules for Flexible Locomotion.

Annu Rev Neurosci

January 2025

1Department of Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden; email:

Locomotion, like all behaviors, possesses an inherent flexibility that allows for the scaling of movement kinematic features, such as speed and vigor, in response to an ever-changing external world and internal drives. This flexibility is embedded in the organization of the spinal locomotor circuits, which encode and decode commands from the brainstem and proprioceptive feedback. This review highlights our current understanding of the modular organization of these locomotor circuits and how this modularity endows them with intrinsic mechanisms to adjust speed and vigor, thereby contributing to the flexibility of locomotor movements.
