Background: This video article describes the use of bone-anchored prostheses for patients with transtibial amputations, most often resulting from trauma, infection, or dysvascular disease. Large studies have shown that about half of all patients with a socket-suspended artificial limb experience limited mobility and limited prosthesis use because of socket-related problems. These problems occur at the socket-residual limb interface as a result of a painful and unstable connection, leading to an asymmetrical gait and subsequent pelvic and back pain.

Freshwater pearl farming in China generates wastewater high in ammoniacal nitrogen (NH₃-N) posing environmental threats. This study explores the use of coal fly ash (CFA), an industrial waste, to synthesize A-type zeolite for effective NH₃-N removal from pearl farming wastewater. The zeolite was prepared via pickling pretreatment and hydrothermal methods, resulting in a material with favorable adsorption properties, including cubic and spherical microstructures, a specific surface area of 17.

Objective: To examine and evaluate guideline concordance of surgical treatment selection at a community-based health system. The AUA guidelines provide specific guidance regarding appropriate utilization of radical nephrectomy (RN) and partial nephrectomy (PN). However, nearly 40% of patients did not fit a guideline-specified scenario in a prior report.

Background: Collaborative research consortia provide an efficient method to increase sample size, enabling evaluation of subgroup heterogeneity and rare outcomes. In addition to missing data challenges faced by all cohort studies like nonresponse and attrition, collaborative studies have missing data due to differences in study design and measurement of the contributing studies.
Methods: We extend ROSETTA, a latent variable method that creates common measures across datasets collecting the same latent constructs with only partial overlap in measures, to define a common measure of socioeconomic status (SES) across cohorts with varying indicators in the Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes Cohort, a consortium of pregnancy and pediatric cohorts.

Background: Personal protective equipment is essential to protect healthcare workers when exposed to aerosol-generating procedures in patients with airborne respiratory pathogens.
Aim: This study aimed to provide information regarding the level of airborne protection offered to nursing staff and other healthcare workers in Australian and New Zealand intensive care units (ICUs) 1 year into the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
Methods: In this cross-sectional survey, ICUs in Australia and New Zealand were asked to participate in the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society Clinical Trials Group Point Prevalence Program in June 2021.
